kat i’m sorry to ask this but did lottie really called us deluded freaks before? i was reading this thread about how fizzy defended louis but someone commented lottie called us “that”. i don’t understand, wasn’t she close with harry during the tour? why would she comment that :(( i joined the fandom circa 2017 so i wasnt sure what happened unfortunately I can’t find any threads about it :(

Indeed that did happen, in september 2013, at the height of the bearding stuff, when Lottie was only 15 years old. I got asked about it at the time

And once you see it in context, I hope you are going to be as pissed as I am about the hypocrites who would want to shove that in Lottie’s face now, 6 years after the fact.

What happened was this: the more impulsive and entitled and frankly stupid and brainless half of the Larry fandom used to nag the young teenage Tomlinson sisters on their social media accounts, acting with absolutely NO regard for the fact they were dealing with young teenagers who probably had no idea what the hell was going on. Lottie got tired of people sending smut to them and lashed out. Fizzy (who was even younger) and Eleanor came to her defense - if I remember correctly Fizzy had said similar things before. What’s more: Gemma - who can do not wrong in most people’s eyes -  once said “what a waste” about adult Larry fans when prompted. 

So that thread is VERY hypocritical to remember it of Lottie, but not Fizzy or Gemma. Nothing but good things about the deceased, fair enough (that is probably also why no one is reminding people that Jay’s twitter was a big mouthpiece for Elounor, which she got shitloads of hate for back in the day). But something that hasn’t changed is: the Styles’ could do no wrong. The Tomlinson’s were always hated on - and I feel for Lottie that people are bringing this up now of something she did when she was 15 and under a LOT of UNFAIR pressure - and no one else is getting flack for what they did. - OK rant over. To the topic:

I wrote about this event at the time - for background read this post first - then this - and this is a reply to an ask about the specific event you are asking about. That was 2013 and Lottie may or may not have known. Things changed after that. 

In November 2014, which was a rough month for LGBTQ fans and Larries - Lottie tweeted two things which may have been related to the Bullshit 2.0 events: once a sad smiley, and once a tweet asking what good would apologies do after the fact, as “the damage had already been done.” - both of these were read as her being in the know about Louis’ sexuality, and his closeting, and being sad/angry on his behalf. She knew. 

By 4 November 2015, Lottie had indeed been on tour with the band, as an apprentice to Lou Teasdale, there was a vine or two with her and Harry in it (the hoop earring vine comes to mind) and she and Lou did this with her hair, just after the end of the tour, harry waving all the flags rainbow direction participants brought, and the “larry hug”. 

In 2016, during an interview, she mentioned these posts again saying they were her most popular posts at the time, which Larries thought was interesting as it was mostly the LGBTQ and Larrie side of the fandom that had made it go viral because of the Rainbow Direction connection 

In 2017, she published her make up book and called it Rainbow Roots... was all the above planned ahead? Maybe, maybe not,  but I have no doubt where Lottie’s allegiance lies. It’s firmly with Louis, whatever his sexuality is. Cause guess who was with Louis, that last two times he was seen wearing one of his rainbow t shirts? Right....
