You can always understand your soulmate, no matter what. Oscar’s pretty sure Lando’s not his soulmate, given the amount of shit he talks.
Oh, Oscar had a moment where he thought maybe—they’d been playing an Aussie word guessing game and Lando had known every last one, instinctual, but he’d had Daniel as a teammate before Oscar so, really, there was a more plausible explanation. Oscar was just being silly for thinking maybe--
Because, like, sure, Oscar and Lando get each other, they’ve clicked, but they’re also in the top twenty in the world of their one singular interest, so of course they’re going to have things in common. Lando’s a lot of energy and Oscar weathers his storm, but it’s not like he’s the only person to have ever once accomplished this. (Carlos did it. Lando talks about him like you would the one that got away, painful longing Lando thinks he’s hiding but to Oscar is clear as day. Carlos swears enough in Spanish that Lando must have known, but some things hurt even when you can see them coming.)
All this to say, Oscar likes Lando quite a good deal, and yeah he’s thought about it, but he’s pretty sure they’re not soulmates given how incomprehensible Lando is a good forty percent of the time.
And then Lando’s mom speaks Flemish to him, garbled nonsense that sounds like French and Dutch had a baby, and Lando responds in that same lilted speech, except Oscar knows he’s saying, deep in his bones, that he ate plenty, mom, give me a break.
Oscar very calmly makes his way to his driver’s room and proceeds to have a panic attack.
(Turns out, forty percent unintelligibility is low. Turns out Lando is just out here speaking gibberish.)
this wip whenever is a weird one. it’s not a story but it’s the wip that is the reason I’m not writing right now.
my youngest (the grogu to my mando) asked for credits for christmas. he likes to play mechanic (droids and ships) and I have a serious case of Taking Things Too Far, so he’s getting way more than just credits. and also there is No Halfassing Allowed, so here is my work in progress:
yeah I have a lot of work to do still and not a whole lotta time 😅
the tools and props aren’t screen accurate, but he’s little and the name of the game was “recycled or thrifted.” so I’m working with what I could find.
I’ve been doing some serious brainstorming about my original fiction novel also. as far as fanfic, I’m not sure where I’m going next, but the likely contender seems to be dandelion sun (old west mando).
apparently I lied, I wanna share a snippet. This is the most recent bit I wrote for the first chapter:
“Alright,” Djarin says, voice as stiff as his shoulders. “I got some rules to go over.”
You roll your eyes. Of course he does. Ain’t that just like a man.
“Number one,” he says pointedly, a gloved finger wagging in your face.
You smack it out of the air and he sighs, bringing it back.
“Rule number one,” he repeats calmly, “is to be respectful.”
“Then be respectable.”
He sighs again. He has a reputation to keep, but this is going to be a long fucking journey.
Who of you here on motogpblr is familiar with The Magnus Archives?
I have a vision for a crossover fic, that I feel would hit like crack, but to write it, I would need people to actually want to read it, otherwise I'm lacking the motivation.
Imagine if Valentino would go to the institute around 2015/16 to make a statement about Marc and how it seems like the gravel craves him, how it seems to be a moth to the flame situation, how he can fall, stand up and grin. But he can't really bring it up with anyone, because a) he doesn't want to get called crazy and b) is not exactly on speaking terms with Marc so everyone would think he's making shit up.
And Marc actually is an avatar of either the flesh or the hunt though I am currently leaning to the flesh.
I think that there would be so much potential in that, but I have never written horror before and I don't know if anyone would even read it 😭😭
It was Peter’s 25th birthday and Pepper had orchestrated a party for him. You see it was a surprise, so she was running around the place yelling at everyone to fix this and that and always going up to Tony to stop drinking all the liquor. At this point he had gotten through half of the bottle, “How are you so fast! I know you like booze and all but you really have to be sober for when Peter shows up, I don’t want a drunk Tony all over him.”
He just rolled his eyes at her and downed the rest of his drink. The result of that was Pepper taking the bottle before he had time to pour the next one. “Hey. You know I have a great- no an amazing tolerance towards alcohol. Besides, the party is in three hours..” She just sighed and walked away with the bottle of whiskey.
Meanwhile Peter was getting ready for the surprise party which he knew about, of course. He chose tight black jeans that were a little flared at the calf’s with a white button up shirt and a black corset. The now 25 year old did a sharp winged eyeliner, fixed his brows and did some blush. “Should I put on some rings? Uhh of course, gotta look extra good for a certain someone.” He winked to himself as he was sitting in front of a mirror.
He heard his favourite ringtone ever which was the intro to Creepschool, so he figured it was one of the Avengers calling him to tell some lie to get him to come to the compound for his surprise birthday party.
“Hi. What’s up?” Clint asked, sounding weird. “We kinda need you at the compound like right now. So be ready for your driver in ten minutes.” Peter was just about to say something back but Clint had hung up before he could ask questions.
That was not how he thought it would go. Okay let’s be real that’s exactly how he imagined it would go. None of the Avengers were that smooth when it came to surprises, not if it was Tony obviously.
As the ten minutes had now passed he looked at himself in the mirror one last time before he left his apartment, he took the elevator from the third story and went out through the gate and got in the car, as the driver pulled into the traffic he started to get a little nervous wondering who would be there, if Tony would be there.
He got out of the car thanking the driver as he always does and walked the short distance to the door and entered the code for the door to get in. Peter took the elevator to the main area and as the doors opened he stepped out. Everyone then shouted “Happy birthday!!!”
“You little shithead!” Tony added, grinning. Pepper just pushed his shoulder, sighing.
Tony was the first one to hug him and wished him a happy birthday, “I didn’t think you would be here!” The young man said. “Why wouldn’t I? It’s your birthday, I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Literally.” He said as he kissed him on the cheek, making Peter blush.
“It’s great to see you Tony. But what are you drinking, is what I’m curious about?”
“It’s a single-malt scotch, now why you ask?” Tony asked as he drank from his drink. Peter touched the older man’s arm but released only a second later and walked his way towards the bar. He took a class and picked out the alcohol. But turned around and looked at Tony and gave him a smile, the look on Tony’s face said he succeeded in seducing.
“Can you help me pour one?” The young man said while batting his eyelashes. The older man sucked in his breath and gave Peter a look over, the view of his tight jeans, the way they hug his curves and that corset is the best sight he has ever witnessed.
“Well of course. It’s your birthday after all!” Tony took the bottle from Peter’s hands, the older man felt the lingering eye contact on him as he poured the right amount. “There you go Pete.”
Peter accepted the drink from Tony and took a sip, loving the taste on his tongue. He proceeded to go to the other guests and chatted a little with everyone.
“You little bastard,” MJ said with a glint in her eyes. “The clear outfit choice and the flirting with him, you’re on fire tonight Peter.” Peter just shrugged his shoulders and grinned at her, “I can’t help it, I gotta do what needs to be done.” The bite on his lips said it all.
Ned approached him from the elevator and hugged him. “Dude!! You’re 25 now! I can’t believe it, happy birthday bitch.” Ned was really happy to see Peter and MJ, they talked for a while, mostly about their jobs and how Peter is doing. Peter excused himself and went over to talk with Natasha.
“So you’re 25 now, congratulations. I see you are drinking a scotch, didn’t know you liked it. Or are you just drinking to get drunk?” Nat glared at him questioningly.
“No, I actually like it, the taste is amazing.” He stated. “How are you doing Nat? By the way, who even picked out the music?” He said while the Happy Birthday song was playing.
“I’m doing good, thanks for asking. And I think Clint chose the music.”
Natasha looked over at Clint and just stared at him, to whom he looked up at her and just put his hands up questioning what her deal was.
“Ah that explains it.. wait imma just go put mine on, brb.” Peter went up to the huge speakers and switched to his phone and put on his playlist.
The first song that was put on was “All My Heroes - Curbi Remix” by Naeleck. He put down his drink and started dancing, searched for Tony in the crowd and sought eye contact. He swayed and rolled his hips. He put his hands on his hips and lifted his arms over his head, kicking out his hip. When the beat dropped Peter put his hand over his forehead and just broke loose on the floor.
Across the floor Tony, who lost his breath while looking at Peter, he’s trying to talk to some of the Avengers but his focus is elsewhere. “I didn’t know Peter could dance.” Steve looked at him in wonder, also in trance by his moves.
“Tony. Tony!” “Hey Earth to Tony.” Pepper snapped her fingers to get his attention, he just snapped his head towards her. “Huh?” He shook his head trying to get the image of Peter dancing out of his head. “Sorry, lost my focus, what was it you were saying again?”
“I was talking about- you know what, forget it!” Tony just waved his hand and went over to the young man and brought his drink and handed it over to Peter.
“Thanks!” He took the drink and downed the rest of it. “Woah woah! Slow down, that stuff hits hard.” Tony warned him but Peter just shook his head. “I can’t really get drunk thanks to my fast metabolism, so I’m good. Or rather it’s quite annoying at times ‘cause that would be awesome but it’s meh..”
“Didn’t know that, but why take the risk?” Tony questioned.
“Yeah I’ve tried it multiple times so I know. But I do like the taste of whiskey, and this scotch was exquisite. Might as well pour me another one, you want one?” He took Tony’s empty glass and walked over to the bar.
“Do you need help with that?” Tony asked, wanting to help.
“No thanks, I know how to pour.” He gave the older man a wink.
The young man picked up the same single-malt scotch and poured his and Tony’s drink. Tony had the realisation that Peter knows what he’s doing and in fact didn’t need any help earlier today and was just playing dumb.
“Here you go, handsome.” Peter handed Tony his drink and walked away swaying his hips a little. Tony stood there with his mouth open and another realisation hit that Peter was in fact flirting with him. Now he felt really dumb for not figuring it out sooner, even though he is the king of flirting.
He put his drink down on the bar and went to the bathroom. He entered one of the many stalls and thought to himself, ‘Come on, get your game on.’ As he exited the stall and washed his hands Peter entered through the door.
“Hi.” The young man said in a sweet voice.
The older man walked towards Peter and cornered him against the wall and just looked at him. He saw the creeping blush on the young man’s cheeks. He put his hand on Peter’s cheek and searched his eyes to see if this is what he wanted and saw the confirmation.
He leaned in and placed a kiss on his lips. Peter placed his hands on Tony’s waist to draw him in. Both of them went to lock the door but just laughed at it and locked it together. The young man welcomed the kiss by opening his mouth and Tony went in with his tongue and they were both deep in the kiss.
They both pulled apart many seconds later from banging on the door, they just shouted “Not now!” And laughed it off, “Wow, that was amazing.” Peter said while trying to catch his breath.
“That was well overdue, that dancing you did earlier was making me so hot, you can gladly do it again.” He winked.
“I’ll gladly do it anytime.” He then kissed the older man again. “But now I need to go to the bathroom.” Peter went over to one of the stalls and said to Tony, “I’ll see you out there.” And went into the stall and locked it.
“Can’t wait.” Tony said.
The young man waited until he heard Tony exit the bathroom and put his hand over his mouth and just did his happy dance.
The Sky In My Heart Clears - A YoshiMaru Fanfiction
CHAPTER 4: ALL ROADS LEAD TO YOU
It’s been a while, Yoshiko thinks as she looks outside the window of the train. It will be almost four months now since she has last seen Numazu. There are tests before they actually go on their summer break two weeks from now but she figured that she doesn’t really need to study that much for her upcoming exams. It’s just the basic things. Mostly, she retains information well enough if she focuses, which she honestly has been.
Besides, she’s been wanting to go back to Numazu for a while now. It’s always wise to go back to where you came from, she believes. Plus, she wants to see Hanamaru.
It’s weird. She really wants to meet with everyone again after so long but, she feels most excited to see her childhood friend. Yoshiko thinks she wouldn’t feel this much towards Hanamaru since they’ve been talking everyday but surprisingly, it made her long to see her more.
Hanamaru has always been that one constant person who had always welcomed her and made her feel like she belongs. Back in kindergarten, it was Hanamaru who stood up for her and allowed her to be herself. When she moved back to Numazu, Hanamaru was there too.
It was unintentional that she fell from that tree on that very first day of the school year. She honestly should have seen it coming since she’s always been plagued by bad luck but, looking back at it now, Yoshiko thinks it’s one of the best accidents that happened to her. A blessing in disguise, she believes.
She also ran away from school because she couldn’t show her face to her classmates after the theatrics she did during her introduction but again, it’s Hanamaru who helped her out.
Her curiosity of Hanamaru has led her to join Aqours too.
And during the time when Yoshiko felt anxious about leaving Uranohoshi, it was Hanamaru who shouted at her and pulled back to reality that the school is indeed closing down and that she needed to come to terms with that. When she, Hanamaru and Ruby closed that door to the library together, somehow it felt like closure for her. Like letting go of something that will be a burden to her if she allows herself to sulk any longer. She made so many happy memories in Uranohoshi that it felt so hard to do so. Hanamaru and Ruby were there with her though so she felt like things will be alright.
And true to their words before they performed for the Love Live! finals, they did stay together and continued to be friends. Hanamaru and Ruby made sure that Yoshiko fit right in and that she was never lonely in the new school they attended.
When Yoshiko began feeling lonely when she moved out for college, she first reached out to Hanamaru. It did make her feel better back then - and even their daily conversations made her feel so much better than when she first arrived in Tokyo.
Yoshiko sighs, her thoughts interrupted when she hears the announcement that their next stop is Numazu. She begins making sure that she won’t leave anything on the train and then excuses herself to the old lady next to her. The lady smiles when she passes her so she returns it. In such a busy world, people pass the most common opportunity to show a bit of kindness.
That’s one thing she noticed when she arrived in Tokyo. People were busy and minding their own business. After her stay in Uchiura, a small town where everyone greets you with a smile, it’s hard not to notice how different it was.
She doesn’t want to live like that, she thinks. She wishes to live a life where she does not feel obligated to follow the same daily routine for the rest of her life.
It’s one of the reason why Yoshiko took filmmaking studies. And in a way, it’s also why she accepted Grand Sky’s offer. It’s not like she wants a life of glamour. Rather, she just wants excitement and new experience.
But then, she never expected to be so attached to friends and to being school idols with them. She would most likely say ‘yes’ in a heartbeat if it’s always been just her. Then again, the opportunity probably wouldn’t have come if that was the case. The hesitance to join something so huge comes from the fact that she knows she can’t shine as much without the other members of Aqours because if she will be honest, she was motivated to perform and to give her best when she was with them.
Still, now that she thinks about it, Aqours is not really gone. They may have stopped performing but they never really stopped being friends. All of them may be far apart but Aqours will always be there for each other.
“Numazu Station.”
Yoshiko walks over to the door to get off the train. Again, she finds it weird - feeling a sense of familiarity while seeing new sights as well. She exits the platform and looks around, trying to find her best friend.
Prompt!: Thalia/Cullen and a kiss after a long time apart :)
thanks fren <3
The days were unmemorable without her; the nights cold and restless. Without the promise of spontaneous visits to his office, without her soft, reassuring voice to lull him back to sleep, everything blended into one long, arduous wait for her return. The first week flew by, the second he had tolerated, and as he neared the end of the third week, he was running on fumes, those being the elegant, flowing script from her letters. By the time you get this letter, love, I will be on my way back to Skyhold. I have many tales to tell, and several new scars to show off. Oh, and I’ve seen enough wyverns to last a lifetime.
It had been two days since Cullen received her message, and during those 48 hours, he couldn’t give anything his full attention. A part of him was always listening, waiting for the telltale clang of the bell that signaled her return. Leliana had smirked at him with a knowing gleam in her eye when she had to repeat a report from her scouts three times, as he trying to discern if the distant clang he had heard was the bell or a pot dropped in the hall. Bull had caught him off guard more times than he would like to admit during training, as the clash of swords sounded an awful lot like a scout ringing the bell. Even now, as he sat scanning reports in his office, Cullen realized had been reading the same lines over again for the past several minutes.
Running a hand through his golden locks, Cullen sighed in frustration. He had no need to be worried; if anyone could handle themselves in the face of danger, it was Thalia. Still… it wasn’t that long ago that they had returned from Adamant, and he could testify that she hadn’t ceased to wake up screaming from visions of the Nightmare demon that haunted her dreams.
Cullen’s thoughts were interrupted as a bell clamored out at the gates, and he didn’t realize that this was the moment he’d been waiting for for several seconds. His heart skipped a beat and off he was, out the door, down the stairs, down more damned stairs, and into the courtyard. Dozens of people had gathered to witness the Inquisitor’s return; he pushed through them as delicately as he could, searching for Thalia’s familiar mane of raven curls. Red, blonde, brown… there. She was guiding her Taslin Strider, Iris, back to the stables, and stroking the horse’s shoulder.
Just the sight of her made Cullen’s heart soar, but at the same time, the need for her to be safe in his arms became almost unbearable. “Thalia!” he called out, dodging a couple soldiers carrying crates of elfroot. She turned then, her ice blue brightening in contrast to the dark circles under her eyes.
The two reached other within seconds. Thalia flew into his arms, nestling her face into the fur of his mantle. Cullen held her tight, unsure if he ever wanted to let go. “Thank the Maker you’re back,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “I could barely stand it without you here.”
“My thoughts exactly,” Thalia said softly, looking up at him. He lightly thumbed the dark circles that stained the skin beneath her eyes, his brow furrowing in concern.
“You were not ready to travel for this long again, Thalia,” he gently reprimanded. “I was-”
She stopped him with a kiss, coaxing his lips to soften with hers. Cullen wished he could feel annoyed, he wished that he could pull away, but he had been awaiting this very moment for weeks. Instead, he pulled Thalia closer, deepening the kiss, trying to take in as much of her as possible to make up for lost time. A part him felt embarrassed for being so intimate in front of all of Skyhold, but he forgot all about that when he felt Thalia’s hand caress his jaw, drawing circles in the stubble of his beard. To his disdain, she then pulled away, standing on her tiptoes to rest her forehead against his.
“Maybe so,” she murmured into lips, breathless. “But perhaps that was a means for forgiveness?”
Cullen couldn’t help but grin, kissing the tip of her nose. “Perhaps.”
The thing about being the King’s second child is that your life is, in essence, a political bargaining chip. This fact is universally known. Privilege comes at a cost.
