a little vampires! legundo headcanon for your wednesday evening (expanding on my last post)
I was thinking about how Legs lied about being a vampire, and I know the main reason was to curb the human v vampires mindset and unite the town, vamps included. but do you think there's a little part of him that was okay with it because he needed to be a little bit antagonistic in the eyes of the town? He's the spearhead of the cure, of course the town looks up to him, puts him on a pedestal, maybe even considers him heroic. the same man who just said "i dont deserve eternity". do we think he thinks he deserves to be considered a hero? no. v!legs seems to absoloutely despise the side of himself that was in the war [or at least the actions he followed out over orders] , so there is no wonder that he would despise any effort to make him seem like a good person. we know he believes one's actions are what make one good or bad, so what could he possibly think of himself after all he's done? of course he is okay with presenting himself with the tainted image of being a vampire (and I say this because there are a good few townsfolk who still hate vampires/aren't as accepting towards them). He can't be the people's hero, hes just here to help, to hopefully right some of the wrong he has done in the past. hes no hero.
also I mentioned this in my last post but it fits here - not sure if its canon or not, I havent seen a clip but someone said v!legs has a higher death count than v!owen. so imagine his thoughts when the town reacted to owen admitting he killed so many people. of course hes jumping at the chance to step down from being seen as an all-good hero. because if they knew, he'd be just as shunned and hated as Owen is.
oh v!legs how i adore you please dont die
