I've been working on this build for months, I took many breaks, obviously, it is a huge build for me, and I wanted to make something that represent what I enjoy playing with.
Pack: Base Game, and CC packs (you will find everything in the link with the spreadsheet)
World: Newcrest
Lot size: 40x30
Price: 706,066
Style: French Chateau v,v
If you saw my previous updates you would have already seen these, but I just wanted to share them with my shader.
I have shown some of the kitchen and entryway, that's why I only included a photo of the living and dining room.
the second floor is a study and a library, there are multiple sitting areas in the hallway, and a bar.
finally the third floor have 2 bedroom, ensuite bathroom and three balconies.
This a spreadsheet of all the items I used for the build, I used @twistedmexi BetterBuildBuy new feature.
you can find it on the gallery, my ID is samthedoodler, make sure you tick the custom content box on the side menu
I hope you like it, I'm really looking to hear from everyone.
A grocery store in Willow is preparing to open.
The ginormous gratitude to all the creators whose CC I used.
Special thanks to Severinka, as her mod is my favorite and is used in this store.
How to have functional grocery stores in your world! (Without taking up precious lot space) (With mods)
I was so disappointed when I saw the new world has its own rabbit hole grocery store, because that's something I've wanted in the game for ages. (The stall in Henford just isn't the vibe for me) Since I don't play with occults and don't care for another European world that looks just like the last, I decided to try making my own.
They're really easy to make, but you can always grab mine off the gallery. My ID is Llamaqueen08 and you can find them as Off lot store (CC). Remember to allow cc in your search!
All the mods/CC you'll need:
-AlexCroft's Grocery Store Kit (requires cottage living, but everything else is base game) Grocery Store Kit (The Sims 4 CottageLiving required) | Patreon
-TwistedMexi's TOOL mod, Optional, but necessary if you want it off the lot TOOL v2.8.11: 5/28/25 Visual Fix | Patreon
-Twisted Mexi's Better BuildBuy, Very optional, but recommended Better BuildBuy v3.4.2: 5/27/25 Patch Hotfix | Patreon
First, you need to find the grocery store kit items. It's kind of tricky to find them since they don't all have a name you can search, just look in misc decorations and wall objects. These are what make the store functional!
Now you build your store! For the base you need to use a deco house, which you can find easily with the BBB mod, or through the live edit cheat. When you're decorating remember to only use items that can be selected with TOOL. Fences and walls don't work, for example.
If you don't have TOOL, you don't have to go any further. You can blend it in with the lot. (Great for multi-purpose lots!) But since I want it in the world, bring up the TOOL panel and shift click in a circle around the lot. Then press toggle group. It should turn green like this.
If you need to rotate it, remember to select rotate around center. Now just click anywhere in the world and it'll place there! Note: If you've used TOOL to adjust the height of something, it will probably be reset when moved. You'll need to raise or lower it again once its placed.
There are lots of good spots to place these, as the base game worlds have a lot of empty space lol this was placed over some seating, but you wouldn't be able to see unless you zoom in close. Now click on the items from the grocery kit, and you should be given the option to shop!
Now just get to placing these everywhere! Here are the ones I made (unrelated but I just noticed a giant empty space in henford to the right of the bar? maybe something got cut
It's the perfect spot for a TOOL build!
I'm addicted to making these now, catch me making one for each world
So if y'all remember this gif from last month (thanks for the support on that!), I TOOLed a lot of things outside the lot to make that scene. And I promise I deleted everything afterwards. Well I came back to the lot a few days ago and all the objects were there again, and I couldn't select them with the TOOL. They were just a part of the world. :/
After reaching out to Twisted Mexi on his discord, he explained the following: "EA implemented a fix for objects off-lot ending up in the sky. Unfortunately when they did, older saves may have this bug where objects are unclickable and off-lot." A member also let me know that this was a recent issue previously reported.
So I basically went into my most recent .save file using Sims 4 Studio and deleted the objects from that lot. If anyone is having that issue, let me know and I'd be glad to put up some screenshots showing the process. If you have prior knowledge of deleting objects out of the world, it's the same thing, just in your .save file instead of the .world files.
How Courtyard Ln. is coming along. I'm all about TOOLing areas to look realistic and add extra functionality to the neighborhood. This area is supposed to give off "edge of the city" so this one is a fun challenge!
I didn't think there was a reason to put much around Deadgrass Isle, but I had to put something. Birds, bunnies, a beach bonfire, and a swing set did the trick!
I wanted to add some loungers and a picnic blanket on one of the beaches too, but the terrain wasn't flat enough for me to make it work. So I'll just have my Sims carry that stuff in their inventory if I ever want a Deadgrass Isle picnic.
