A closer look for @sparkymolly at the retaining strap on the Hori that I refurbished. The cord is leather bootlace and the toggle is a folded over piece of boot leather. It's fed through two holes punched in the belt loop, wraps around the handle and the toggle snugs it up. Hori Hori refurb all finished up. This was a special project for me. It's not perfect, the stitching has a few wobbles and it's a little rough around the edges because I made it as I went without any stencils or jigs. But its imperfections are what I like about it. It's solid, and it has a rugged sort of beauty that will last for generations if given the proper care. It takes just as much work and practice to love, respect and accept our own imperfections as it does with any skill we choose to develop.
