The Legend of Korra, baby!

Anybody who's ever been on the Internet knows that the Avatar fandom has, uh...opinions about this sequel. As for me, I find The Legend of Korra to be one of the best cases of SELF-IMPROVEMENT in cartoon history.

Here’s why.

What up, peeps?

As a part of my plan to get more serious with illustration, I have decided to overhaul my webcomic, Overthinking It. I realized that the previous style was not as visually appealing as I would’ve liked, so I strove to remake it into something more universal.

New logo, new character design, new art style, the whole sha-bang. The only thing that stays is my sense of “humor”. I would love to hear some feedback on these changes, but if not, I hope you enjoy the series more than you did before.

So, I kinda have a pretty big announcement to make.

In the next few days, ToonStarterz will be undergoing a brand shift. The channel will officially be renamed to Explained with Bad Doodles. It was a decision I made after much deliberation based on a variety of factors, and what I ultimately believe will be in everyone’s best interest.

As you might’ve guessed, the series I’ve made with the same name will now be the main focus of the channel, but with a few caveats. I will now be more particular about which series/movies to focus on in favor of approaching more broader topics that I believe my audience will enjoy. Rest assured, cartoons and anime will still be a significant focus in my “explanations”. Also, I will continue to be making periodic One Piece videos in-between. That journey is far from over.

I realize that my upload infrequency means you can’t hear me discuss topical animation as often as I’d like. If you’d like to chat up me and other nerds behind the doodles, then I invite you to join my Patreon and become a member of my Discord community. It’s mad chill, and 2nd-tier members will get sneak peeks of my videos before anyone else.

!!! BIG-ISH NEWS UPDATE !!!

Firstly, my next video should be up in about a week.

Secondly, old Toonsy here is turning 29 soon and is in drastic need of boosting up his adulting skills. Working a low-paying desk job and still in no shape to afford my own place ain’t really doing wonders for my morale. And given the nature of my videos, it kills me that I can’t engage with all you wonderful bitches on a more regular basis.

And thusly, after much deliberation about how I can best stay connected with my followers and make this a more sustainable livelihood, I have decided to reward my patrons a little extra somethin’ somethin’ for their continued support:

I think this is going to be a big year for my channel.

Since I know a lot of y'all are wondering, I will be making another One Piece update. It'll likely come out after one or two more videos. There was a LOT going on in Alabasta so I wanna make sure I got my thoughts in order before tackling it lol. Thanks for your patience.

In the meantime, I'm livestreaming now.

New year. New Toonz. I figured now is as good a time as any to come outta my hole in the ground and engage with my audience for once. To start off, I'll be previewing the Winter 2023 anime season.
