Kin Bounty Wednesday is a time to learn more about the otherkin and alterhumans in the community! Each week I’ll be posting a list of some kintypes with some questions to learn more about them! If you see something that applies to you, reblog with your answers or even just a #lol it’s me!
This event is intended mostly for otherkin (including therians etc), but adjacent identities like otherhearted and otherlink are more than welcome to respond!
This week:
bears ⎚ hibernating rodents ⎚ brumating reptiles + amphibians ⎚ deciduous trees ⎚ personal computers
(if your kintype hibernates but isn't one of these, feel free to chip in with your experience!)
Questions under the cut!
Questions for all:
How did you figure out that you had this kintype?
What other things did you kinsider, and how did you figure out that you were this instead?
What types of shift do you experience, if any (mental? phantom? etc)? What makes you feel shifty?
What do you wish more beings knew about your kintype? (Either your experience in kinning it or facts about what you kin)
Do you have any gear or habits that affirm your kintype?
Bear
Members of the ursidae family (though some species DON'T hibernate, like pandas, polar bears, spectacled bears...)
Special question: Is hibernation an important thing for you that you really wish you could participate in, something you'd never be interested in at all, or somewhere in between! And/or, describe your perfect hibernation spot!
Hibernating rodent
Some, but not all, rodents! Some squirrels, chipmunks, prairie dogs, mice, groundhogs, etc.
Special question: Do you feel the drive to collect and store things like food? And/or, describe your perfect hibernation spot!
Brumating reptile, amphibian, etc
Many turtles and tortoises, snakes, lizards, frogs, and toads.
Special question: What cold-blooded behaviors and instincts do you have? And/or, describe your perfect hibernation spot!
Deciduous tree
Any tree that loses its leaves seasonally.
Special question: Does being deciduous make fall and winter (whenever that is in your hemisphere and region) feel different than other times of the year? And/or, talk about leaf colors! What colors would your leaves be in fall? Yellow? Brown? Red?
Personal computer
Laptops, PCs, or anything that seems to fit
Special question: What do you think being put into sleep mode/turned off and rebooted/etc would feel like? And/or, what would your screensaver be?
(This is a bit longer than my first one, lol. Also apologies to beings in the southern hemisphere Q_Q I wish this was timelier for y'all but it's fall here!)
