For the trope mashup meme: Semishira 25 & 56!
25. Fairy Tale AU & 56. Awful First Meeting
*checks writing meme description* Okay, this says I just have to describe how I’d write it, not actually write it. *pumps fist*
You can convince me to write this later, maybe ;D
This wouldn’t be hard to combine, actually. Think cliche modern fairy tale AU, with fairy tale creatures going to clubs where people often use hallucinogenic drugs, so they’re not fazed by what they see. Imagine fairy tale creatures coming out to this club, letting loose and showing their true forms - and humans just thinking they are seeing things, so they brush it off.
Imagine SemiShira meeting in one of these clubs - Shirabu is a djinn, Semi is a siren. They know nothing of the other, except that they meet in passing, brushing past on the edge of the dance floor.
Except this brushing past is so much more, because Shirabu was already in a bad mood, and is intent on causing a bit of destruction.
He brushes past Semi but uses magic to flick his glass out of his hand, shattering it in mid-air and making the glass shards stab him as they fall. Semi is shocked enough that he doesn’t hold back his voice, demanding his assailant to stop. It’s a strong enough command that Shirabu does stop for a moment - realising that the person he had bumped into is definitely not human, and can fight back.
(This only makes him moodier.)
Shirabu fights free of the command, pulling the shattered glass out and reforming it, even pulling all the fallen alcohol from where it had landed and putting it back in the glass. He offers the glass to Semi with a saccharine smile, but the siren can see the dust and dirt still floating in the glass, and bids Shirabu to drink it himself.
(No one said Semi was calm enough not to fight back. After all, this rude person didn’t even apologise for attacking him first without reason.)
(An eye for an eye, right?)
The glass makes it all the way to Shirabu’s lips before he can snap out of it, before he smashes the glass again, throwing the shards back at Semi. Semi drops, but this leads to the glass hitting other dancers behind him, sparking a chain reaction of pained cries from humans and enraged shock from non-humans.
In the chaos, Shirabu smirks and slips away, dissolving into his non-corporeal form. Semi yells for him to stop, to come back, but his command isn’t directed enough, and instead freezes everyone else in the club, turning them towards him.
Shirabu manages to escape while Semi flounders and tries to rectify the hundred or so people suddenly trained on him, all held in place by his words and moving towards him.
it is, quite frankly, a disastrous first meeting.
