Penumbra Minibang sign-ups now open!

We're thrilled to be bringing back the Penumbra Podcast Minibang for year five! If you're a fan of the show and would like to collaborate in a writer-artist team, or help as a beta reader, this is the perfect event! We keep strict secrecy about our wips until posting, and cheer each other on in the event Discord.

This year, writers are being asked to write a fic between 5,000 and 50,000 words, and artists are being asked to make one fic per partnership...and can make more when they're done, if they want! Betas have no special requirements.

1 week until Sign-ups open!

Penumbra Minibang season returns for the fifth year! Writers, artists, and beta readers will be able to start signing up on September 23, 2022. Start telling your friends, brushing off your thinking caps, and browsing the rules, FAQ, and schedule linked in our blog header for all your questions.

Final weekend of writer sign-ups!

We’re now in the LAST WEEK to sign up for the bang as a writer, so if you’re on the fence, now’s the time! 

Artist and beta signups will remain open for another month or so, until claims, but writer sign-ups close on Monday, so sign up this weekend!! We want this event to be as big and exciting as possible, and that means as many new (and returning) friends as we can find. 

If you’ve already signed up for the bang, tell your friends! Tell your cat! Tell your next door neighbour! Tell everyone! All authors and artists are welcome to this event, and we have betas available for those who might be worried about writing 5k (or more!) for the first time.

Hello all! As a follow-up to Mod K’s previous post about their (tragic) retirement, I’d like to introduce myself: I am Mod J (she/her), taking over the running of this blog as a part of the mod team for the 2020 Penumbra Minibang event. My personal blog is @motherfuckingnazgul and you can hit me up there to say hi any time, but for TPP Bang questions, here (or on our other social media) is always best. 

Please bear with myself and the other mods as we get up to speed and finish the transition. We’re anticipating having the schedule ready and posted in the next few weeks, and signups will open in October.

We’re all really looking forward to meeting new participants, welcoming previous participants back, and seeing what everyone creates!

Hello everybody!!! I’ve got a big post incoming so bear with me here and I hope you’re having a fantastic Monday!!

I am unable to host this year’s Penumbra Bang Event, but my mods have expressed an interest in taking up the mantle and finding a way to make it happen for everyone who is still interested!!

I just wanted to say that it has been truly an honour these past two years, getting to see everyone get creative, build friendships, find new fandoms, and create amazing content!!

I won’t be active on this blog anymore, and I won’t have much input during this year’s event unless someone needs advice or assistance (DM me @ladyraincloud if you’d like!) but I want everyone to know that I love y’all!! Thanks for letting me be your mod and friend!!

Can’t wait to see what y’all create for this year’s event!

Week two of signups is drawing to a close, which means the second round of confirmation emails will soon be going out! We’ve already had a whole FIFTY sign-ups for this year, and more coming in all the time--it’s going to be a fabulous event! Don’t forget to sign up soon so that you can get in on all the fun we’re having in our Discord; emails with the invite link go out every Thursday.
