Mitsuya acts responsible for fixing Hakkai's mess, one reason being that he's older and has known his for long enough to have those kinds of feelings towards him. He rushed to Hakkai knowing that he'd be in a pinch, made sure he was okay, let him rest while he fought and Mitsuya just is that kind but it doesn't go unnoticed that he has a soft spot for Hakkai wether is be looking after him or letting him off the hook for those silly comments.

But he has never thought of Hakkai as someone who needs saving. He believes in Hakkai's strength.

Mitsuya Knows that them together are unbeatable and takes pride in their partnership. There's a blind trust of "I can always count on him" from Mitsuya's side and a "As long as Taka-chan's by my side I'm fine!" from Hakkai.

They're the ultimate "with your support I can win any fight", and I can't get enough if it.

at this point I think Wakui just gave the haitani brothers the title super strong, dangerous and top tier fighters ironically. He just wanted to mess with us a little, knowing they will turn out to be losers. They are idiots. They probably know this too and that's why they talk so much and play around in fights. Makes them creepy enough to think twice about approaching them at all

Thinking about how Mitsuya probably saw the Haitani brothers’ effortless style as a landmark for the kind of delinquent he could be. It was probably a realization that he could be a delinquent and still be comfortable in his passion for design and still be seen as powerful. I’m guessing Mitsuya probably had people make fun of him for being well dressed and enjoying fashion as a kid. That doesn’t fit into the ideas we have of what masculinity should be. Seeing the Haitanis as stylish delinquents probably helped Mitsuya develop his comfortable and non-toxic masculinity that we see in the manga.
