Trace Morgan
This man has a chock hold on me and I mean that in the most complicated way possible. He haunts everything for a reason and no one knows if that's a good thing or not. So buckle up everyone.
Trace is the former guild Master of Fairy Tail and is at first meant to be seen as this principle of goodness only for everyone to see that he was anything but.
He wanted to do right by everyone but circumstances and his own faults caused him to negatively affect everyone badly in the long run. That's not to say that he was a completely bad master. He was caring and genuinely wanted to be a good person and master but he did scar people and has blood on his hands for them.
Own the biggest sin was his own adoptive son, Jonah Neives. He lied to him about the real point of the mission in order to get him to do it, thinking he would be able to handle it, not knowing when he did, he was killed soon after.
He wanted to forget his past, no matter the cost. In his youth, he actually killed someone to prove he could be a soldier albeit it was by accident. When he was a soldier, the less the better. When decided to retire, he chose Fenral and left.
To him, he always wanted to forget.
