Sadly, however, there are some husbands who are abusing their authority in regards to their marriages. Two examples are: 1. The husband who treats his wife like a slave. 2. The husband who insists on having full control of the finances - even though his wife is not a spendthrift. In relation to the examples above, such submissiveness is not Christian. According to the the Catechism of the Catholic Church, there is a sacred distinctiveness and worth about every life.
