The Rift

Yay!!! I finally have portraits for all my main characters from my epic fantasy story I’m working on! Don’t they all look so cool? (Individual images and descriptions under the cut)

Ling: An Autistic Prince with third degree burns who’s presumed death started a war.

Tseren: A war criminal with a troubled past who killed a hundred men in a single night

Serpent: A heartless bounty-hunter driven by necessity whose prey never escapes him.

Maya: A blind orphan child who can see the red strings of fate that make up people’s hearts.

Kira: The eldest daughter of a broken noble family, trying to hold the pieces together.

Aliseu: The secret daughter of a noble house who buried the bodies of every villager in her hometown after it was ravaged by an angry spirit.

I’ve been working on this story for… dang, almost eight years now. It’s really come a long way, but it’s still far from finished. It will probably be years yet before I’m ready to write this behemoth of an epic, but I’m proud of the work I’ve done already.

Lucian: A young, grown traveler and crafter who is part of a now fallen species known as Radiancians (light-like creatures known for their strong legs, glowing fur, animal/alien-like looks, and skills) from the now-destroyed former peaceful world of the Paradise of Elysia. Also, the father of the children who are the last of his and his wife's fallen kind, now in another world. Raised to be strong and kind, he helped guard critters and find food for his family to eat. Despite his bravery and kindness, he is mostly quiet and shy at times. The flower he wears is a gift from the girl he has grown to fall in love with, who will later be his wife. (Design is inspired by Ori from Ori and the Blind Forest)

I finally drew Lucian's wife! Her name is Kimana. She is a young Papillion (a butterfly/moth-like humanoid species) whose kind also had fallen from the once-peaceful Paradise of Elysia. Known for their beautiful and fast yet delicate wings, incredible weaving abilities, and agility, the Papillions are trusted allies and fellow neighbors of the Radiancians who work together and build their kingdom where they live in a harmonious and peaceful relationship with each other for eons before the fall of Elysia. Also, the mother of their children, who are the last of their two species and are now in another world. Deeply devoted, loyal, and in love with Lucian, she followed and supported him until the end, and she would even give up her life alongside him to save their families. A kind, humble, selfless, and wise soul, Kimana had assisted her and her husband's people along with her family. She gave Lucian the flower he wore as a gift after they began their relationship. (Her design was inspired by Sugarfly Cookie from Cookie Run: Kingdom.)
