Blueberry academy is a very prestigious solely battle and pokemon field focused academy that has no age maximum but an implied minimum of 14 (Kieran only recently enrolling when his older sister is a third year student) but a three year enrollment (there is two of every year class in our main cast and not a single fourth year mentioned because they do not exist)

Mentally i found I have categorized the three years into different main stages of education, and not entirely without reason?

First year students — late middle school (Crispin and Kieran)

Second year — basically high school (Lacey, Drayton is a special case)

Third year — early university (Carmine, Amarys, and where Drayton should be if he didn’t keep flunking his second year)

This is based on the expectation and difficulties seen in the characters. Carmine does some very important work in the academy as a third year while being an unremarkable student that means it is the bare minimum for a third year to do important tasks for the academy. Amarys also holds important positions.

Amarys can be read as a prodigy leaving her open to a very unique interpretation of earning a skipped grade bumping her up to her third year position

Lacey focuses on social rules a main goal of high school is socially teaching and training students for adulthood outside of the school structure

Crispin and Kieran both act like middle schoolers with juvenile interests and friendships built on it, as well as the puberty teenage angst Kieran has going on being a middle school canon event.

Drayton would probably be nearing his twenties with how much he is flunking his second year.

This is not a literal school structure, just a thematic one I noticed while analyzing BBA for everything it was worth in my now dead RP group

I was the trusted canon lore mod…it was my most prideful title. I earned it solely through yapping and “erm actually”ing any missing details in the academy structure
