We just completed the first two days of a four-day Just Food Community Chef Training of Trainers today at the Culinary Literacy Center of the Free Library of Philadelphia. Farm School NYC is the best. So grateful to still be a part of this community. I helped facilitate the initial community visioning and planning sessions for the school back in 2008, and have been co-teaching the Training of Trainers course annually since the program launched in 2011. This particular training begins the 2-year certificate course and focuses on how we teach - recognizing that urban farmers must teach - and that our teaching can be based in a popular education practice that bases all learning in people's lived and on-farm experiences.
