My question: when did you first start thinking about Traitor trio dynamics, and what prompted you to it?

If i had to guess I think it happened shortly after I made my 2nd TA Rachel fic (the one with her and Morpheus), I think since I drew a parallel between those two, and I was already thinking about the Rachel, Ethan and Alabaster dynamics, it was sort of a natural progression to think about how Morpheus' dynamics with the other TA gods would work too. My askblog event def played a part in it too, I literally spent like a week and a half just thinking about the traitor trio so my brain had a lot of ideas coming fast about them. Wottg (eugh) also got me thinking about Hecate in the time leading up to that and Nemesis is always somewhere in my brain thanks to Ethan so it wasn't too surprising I looked at very similar characters in my brain and decided they should be weird about each other lmao

For an actual timespan I'd say around May to August of last year

Apoo: Baz, what’s with this clown?

Hawkins: It was a gift from Killer

Apoo: Are you just going to keep it here?

Hawkins: I think it’s a fine place to put it.

Apoo: Alright

*Drake walking in*

Drake: What’s with the clown?

Hawkins: Gift from Killer

Drake: Ah, got it

Apoo: I’ve got something prepared for you.

Hawkins: Oh, what?

Apoo: Its not in here.

Hawkins: Then take me to it.

*Apoo and Hawkins leaves*

Drake looking towards the clown: Where’d the clown go?

*Laughter being heard*

Clown: Hey you. Come here a minute. Hahaha! Come here

*Drake lifting up the covers to show under the bed*

Clown: peek-a-boo

Drake getting pulled under: No!

Clown: This is a fun game, huh?

Drake: Oh it will be

Clown: Hey, what are you doing?

Drake: I got a game for you

Clown: Get your finger out of there!

Drake: What you don’t want to play with me?

Clown trying to escape: Aah! Help!

Drake pulling him back: Here’s a little balloon animal.

Clown: NOOOO!!!!

Ethan: So, I'm in love with Travis.

Alabaster: Stoll?

Luke: My brother? That Travis?

Ethan: Yeah, him. Thoughts?

Alabaster: Yeah, and prayers. Holy shit dude.

Traitor Trio brainworms for today: i really like how Luke, Ethan, and Al each have very different characters as anti-heroes:

Luke is the self-destructive and wrathful type, right-cause-wrong-method basket case. “Tear down the old world to rebuild a new one,” except he’s so blinded by his rage he doesn’t realize that the golden age he wants to bring back will be no kinder to demigods. Trying to answer the question of which between his personal egos/hurts and the sorry plight of unclaimed demigods and kids of minor gods was a bigger factor in his decision to join hands with Kronos is like trying to decide if the chicken or the egg came first.

Ethan’s lowkey, more of a follower type. He believes in the big picture and wants to find his nook in the grand scheme of thing, wants to do his own little part to contribute to the cause. Comfort and glory don’t really matter to him; being self-fulfilled and actualizing his purpose does, which is why he can stomach a sacrifice as gruesome as his own eye. Unfortunately, his clean dedication to the cause is what makes him ripe for abuse and intimidation by leaders who are only looking out for their interests, which is exactly what Kronos does.

Alabaster is… whoo. He’s Hecate’s most powerful demigod son and has a bit of a messianic complex, like he can win the war for everyone. Even after the TA’s defeat and he’s subsequently banished by the Olympians, he still has a very idealized (hell, I’d even say naïve) notion of good/evil and hero/villain. For him, the Olympians are the “divine Mafia,” and “heroes never die.” He’s the Main Character in his head. If this series were in another genre, Alabaster could’ve just as easily been the hero/protagonist of this story just like Percy was.

urghhh I would’ve killed to see interactions between them in canon bc they each have very different mindsets towards the Titan War, but their common denominator is their goal.

also their extremely horrid mommy issues, but that’s for another post entirely.
