Let's go with canon for a moment here, por favor. Warnings for Kate Argent, dysphoria mentions and swearing because that's just how I am lol

Imagine 15-year-old Derek, fairly fresh out of the closet and has just started T. Imagine him meeting Kate, and imagine him falling for her and thinking wow this beautiful woman loves me even though I'm trans.

Imagine that all crumbling down around him after the fire.

Laura packs him up and they head out to NY. Laura gets him into a good doctor that helps him keep transitioning. She buys him binders and packers because she'd do anything for him. He gets older and starts working out religiously he puts on more muscle and has top surgery. His beard starts growing in and he can look at himself in the mirror and not feel like dying on the inside (as a fluid nb I can confirm dysphoria sucks ass).

Then he goes back to Beacon Hills, chasing after Laura and everything goes to shit.

Nobody remembers a Derek Hale. He went by a different name back then. Noah Stilinski has to look twice at this kid before he realises who he's looking at.

He hates the judgement, but the people who don't remember him at all immediately take to the new him, never messing up his pronouns once.

His resting bitch face and I-will-rip-your-throat-out demeanor also help with that.

Imagine him meeting Stiles. This bright and bubbly kid who yeah, he doesn't like immediately but he warms up to him.

Imagine them getting closer, with that something but not yet sitting between them constantly. The tension, the fear.

Imagine Stiles being terrified because how could someone as amazing and as hot and caring and thoughtful as Derek ever want a gangly klutz of a fuck-up like him.

Imagine Derek being terrified because he's falling for this sweet boy who is quickly growing into a man, and why would someone as amazing as Stiles want a dysphoric mess with self-worth issues?

Imagine it's just them. They're talking, and it's tense. Derek is mad that Stiles put himself in danger again. Stiles is mad that Derek still has a martyr issue.

They're not sure how it happens, or who goes in first, but they meet in the middle, months and months of tension and sideways looks and comforting touches all piled into one kiss.

The first one is tense and rushed. The one after that is soft and sweet.

Despite appearances, Derek really can't do flings. He tells Stiles this, and Stiles throws his hands in the air because why would I want this to be a one-time thing, you asshole!

Derek comes out to Stiles right then and there. He can't go into this dishonest, he can't stand the fear that once Stiles finds out, he'll leave.

Stiles is silent. Derek can't look him in the eye.

Stiles cups his face and brings it up. He kisses Derek again and it's so soft and caring and stiles says, uncharacteristically calm, thank you for trusting me.

Imagine Derek's utter joy when he realises that he finally has someone who doesn't judge him and won't use him for who he was and who he has become.

And Noah, of course, tells Derek to send anyone who bothers him his way. He's family now, after all.

Yooo I love some good trans!Derek!!! ((Inspired by the recent ask!!))

At first, Derek wasn’t really sure how to get "men's" clothes to fit him properly. This was mid 2000s and as much as the internet were getting up there in pop culture, there wasn’t really reliable source for how to translate, clothing sizes. So Derek and his very supportive and proud uncle Peter took him out to get him properly fitted for mens clothes. Peter being the absolute fashion icon that he is refuses to let his only nephew to dress like some jersey shore knock off. Peter managed to lock down a look of jock with hints of 90s grundge with Derek the suited him well (for the fashion of that period anyway) ((Laura calls it his plaid era and Derek refuses to talk about it because with the lenses of now fashion her looked dumber than how Stiles dresses now.)) That was Derek's signature style. Until the fire, that is.

((I'm actually not sure if there was a largely active trans community on the internet then and it makes me wanna go archive diving to see when the first bigish trans community was most active!!!)))

Imagine Derek was scared the first time he used the boy’s change room. He’s been on T for a few years now and is comfortable with who he is, but that doesn’t make it any less scary. 

His locker is between the wall and Stiles’ locker. Stiles is digging through his locker and seems to notice how anxious he is. He glances over his shoulder at the rest of the change room before opening his locker door right up, blocking Derek from view.

Derek realises what Stiles has done and quickly gets changed, gently pushing Stiles’ locker door shut when he’s done and smiling at him gratefully.

They don’t talk about it, but Derek is tankful beyond words.

@loveyprophet: Okay but peter buying that cardigan to show Derek that man cleavage is a thing and not to be ashamed of it (when Derek started putting on more muscle, his chest started to push out because hello pecs but he freaked out because he thought his boobs were coming back.)

OR, Derek kind of wants to wear a dress every now and then (becasue it's breezy on the bits and sometimes you just wanna be comfortable), but he feels like he doesn't want to wear 'girls clothes', so Peter takes one of Laura's cardigans and wears it as a shirt. 

Peter supports the heck out of his nephew.

Imagine trans Derek cutting off all his hair and wearing a sports bra because he’s saving up for a binder. He hasn’t come out to any of his family, but one day he comes home from school to find a present on his bed. On it is a piece of card that says ‘You don’t have to be afraid to be yourself - Laura’. He’s really confused, but opens the present nonetheless and finds a binder. He’s so grateful he goes running into Laura’s room and throws his arms around her.
