February 1991. Will is only 18, but he feels his life is ending. With his mom on tour as the opening act for one of the biggest folksingers of the decade, he has been left alone to take care of his conservative grandparents. His job as a waitress grows more frustrating each day, and he feels stuck in a body that doesn't even feel his... At least, he has his dreams, his guitar, and a slot in the open mic night his bar is hosting. It isn't much, but it's the perfect excuse for fate to put rock singer Nico di Angelo and his band in Will's way, and, unbelievably enough, it's the beginning of his last night in Austin. updates every two weeks on wednesdays!

“Well, whatever happened, you are officially an honorary Hermes Kid,” Connor told him before turning to Will and Michael. “We figured we should get Nico a check up and that because Chiron yelled at me and Travis about how we still hadn’t brought him here or anything, so yeah.” The kid—Nico— gave a shy wave and smiled. Michael had on his plotting-a-romance face as he looked at Nico. Will felt his stomach sink while he tried to figure out what his brother was up to. “Great! Will, why don’t you take Nico into Exam Room B and give him a check up and record his medical history and information?” Will gave his older brother a horrified look. When it came to relationships, you would think that Michael was a son of Aphrodite. “Cool,” Connor said before clapping Nico on his shoulder. “I’ll see you at lunch, I guess. If you finish earlier, come find me and Travis.” “See ya, Connor,” Nico said as Connor walked out of the infirmary, smirking his ass off. He probably had a prank planned with his brother. Will didn’t really want to know. “So. Will, take your patient to the exam room,” Michael said, pushing Will towards Nico.

Camp Half-Blood needs to restock the infirmary. Chiron knows Will Solace is the head medic and shouldn't leave camp, but except for being the best healer the world has seen in many years, he is also the only one who would be able to collect all the herbs the infirmary needs. If he sent someone else from the Apollo Cabin they would collect the wrong herbs, and then Chiron would have to throw the herbs out, and they would have to go on the quest again and again. So really, Will Solace is the best he's got. Of course, he cannot allow Will to go on the quest alone and get hurt. He will have to take a plus one for protection. His eyes land on Nico di Angelo. And so, Nico and Will go on a quest. What's the worst thing that could happen?

motherfuckin' uhhhhh Trans!Will Solace headcanons bc i love self projecting onto characters

hi i'm rhys and i'll write my own content until i feel adequately represented in the media

will always subconsciously knew he was trans

but in middle school he learns what trans is and has the moment of realization ™

he never came out to his mom before going to camp, because he was too afraid of what she'd say

but when he gets to camp he introduces himself as Will and uses male pronouns

things are good until he gets older around 14/15, and he feels insecure because he's voice isn't deep, he's like, a foot shorter than his friends, etc. etc.

around that time he really struggles with his dysphoria

around the same time he meets nico too

will isn't transparent about his identity at first, he's terrified that nico wouldn't want to be with him if he came out

they start dating and Will only feels worse about not coming out to him

i think there'd come a time where they're sitting together or something and nico pulls Will closer to him and runs a hand down Will's back and he goes absolutely stiff bc he's certain Nico felt his binder under his shirt

Will gets all nervous

Nico notices

he asks what's the matter and wills sitting there like

fuck fuck fuck fuck

and he says "UH I HAVE TO TELL YOU SOMETHING"

nico is like "...okay??"

they go somewhere private, probably out near the lake and sit and will just takes a deep breath, trying to reign himself in

will doesn't look at nico when he says it because he's too afraid of his reaction

"nico, i'm trans."

"wait so you want to go by, like, girl's pronouns?"

"what? no? i've already tried that. didn't work out."

"oh"

"oooh"

nico promises that he still loves Will and that something like that doesn't even matter to him, and he promises to help Will through his transition

he ends up getting a new binder for Will the next week since his old one was getting overused

Will also ends up stealing Nico's jacket

it becomes his new dysphoria hoodie

When Nico finds out Will isn't out to his mom he's confused

Will explains how terrified he is to be out to her

When will is 15/16, he decides to come out to his mom and Nico is there every step with him

so the two of them are sitting at the kitchen counter at Will's house

Will can't stop doing the anxious leg bounce thing

But Nico gives him a smile and he realises that night matter what happens, Will knows who he is and he will be okay

his mom is sitting across from the two, wondering why they're even there

and will just says it

and his mom laughs

"honey i've known since you were a little kid. i was waiting for you to figure it out"

the sense of relief just floods into his heart

His mom pulls him into a strong hug, the ones that can only come from a mother

for his sixteenth he's suprised with his first dose of T

May I request a Danny phantom!au for solangelo with Will being Danny (goes by the name Invisa-billy) and Nico can see ghosts and is really confused when he looks at what is basically a half ghost half mortal? Bonus: Will's catch phase is the "guess I'll die" meme

i saw ‘danny phantom au’ and got excited bc i thought i could go the easy way and use the planning i already have for a ghost!nico fic that im probably never gonna write but then i kept reading and saw that this is different so heres your list!!

will and nico dont really know each other - they go to the same school but they dont really run in the same circles - until The Accident ((which is just will going into the portal thing and having his dna ghostified)) and lou ellen is the only one that knows about it bc she was there when it happened

so will spends that whole day figuring out what the heck is happening and lou’s the one that convinces him to say “guess i’ll die” instead of ‘going ghost’ when he transforms

they show up to school the next day and wills kinda jumpy bc what if somehow somebody KNOWS that hes like part-ghost now?? and then nico just marches right up to him while hes at his locker and goes “whats wrong with you?” and wills like “whats wrong with YOU?” bc hes freaking out and also a little insulted and nicos like “you’re a ghost. Sort of. Whats wrong with you and how did it happen?”

will explains in as little detail as possible and makes nico promise to meet up with him after school so he can tell will how the heck he knew and also so they can figure out,,,, why hes like this

Turns out nico’s parents are even weirder than will’s bc they can see ghosts without any special equipment and they can communicate with and summon ghosts and they also have a bunch of weapons to use against bad ghosts that won’t hurt people - unlike some of the stuff will’s parents have whipped up

nico helps him figure out how all his ghosty powers work and nico and lou ellen help will whenever theres a ghost they have to fight and a lot of the time the ghosts try to pick on will bc his girlfriend has to help him fight and wills like “who, lou? ew no” and soon enough the ghosts are like ‘oooohhhh so that ones your boyfriend then ok’ and start picking on nico instead

whenever will comes over nico has to sneak him in and out of his room bc he cant let his parents see will - bc theyll know immediately that hes a ghost and try to send him away to the ghost zone - so theyre convinced that hes trying to hide a boyfriend from them which ends up being true bc one day they’re in nicos room and theyre supposed to be doing homework but they just end up,,, making out instead,,, and everyone was expecting them to get together sooner or later but its still kinda sudden

ALSO::: everybody knows the trans danny fenton headcanon so let me just say - trans will who feels more comfortable in his ghost form bc he looks more manly and confident and its just more ideal than his normal human form - nico loves both of his forms though and honestly?? hes got the coolest boyfriend ever and nobody could ever convince him otherwise

What Will had invented, though, was being Naomi Solace’s only son. “But that’s a girl.” He argued, looking at the other. “I looked like that when I was young.” Will started to explain. “The doctors said I was a girl when I was born, so I lived as a girl for a long time.” “I don’t understand at all.” He confessed. When Will Solace was thirteen he survived his first battle. A year later at the age of fourteen he had lived through his first war. At some point, whether it was when he found himself crossing over Camp’s border, or when he lost his first patient, or maybe between being named both Head of the Infirmary and Head of the Apollo Cabin. Or hell, perhaps after all the (brief) rumors about the Apollo Cabin Head Counselor position being cursed started and people gave him that pitying look, Will Solace started to think he too would die young.
