i do think “human” gender is important to cas’s understanding of himself and his identity (in a way that imo sexuality isn’t), because once jimmy gets vaporized in swan song, cas is somewhat uniquely an angel with a body, not just a vessel.

so cas’s body comes to be an important part of his identity and sense of self, especially after he loses his grace, and gender is a part of that (he’s jack’s father, not just his parent). and being an embodied cis man kinda makes you trans when your starting point was multidimensional wavelength of celestial energy.

castiel is transgender because divine imagery has included transness forever. angels are inherently transsexual beings because across cultures and religions the transgender and the genderweird has been a representation of connection with the divine. being beyond human requires being beyond the human ideal of cisness. i believe this with my heart and soul and that is why i always give castiel a pussy
