i keep thinking people i know will accept what it means to me to be bigender and that i am both a man and woman and all they end up doing is just trying to shove me in some different box. i've told them so many times that i'm okay being seen as just a man or a woman or both and then instead of that they just default to using they/them and referring to me as a "person" and just. why would you hear someone saying "yeah i use labels x *and* y but not z" and respond with "well obviously since you use both labels x and y you don't fit into either of them so you're z."

I do not understand why some people think it is up to them which groups should be included in the LGBT+ community.
This goes for trans, this goes for asexuals/aromantics, this goes for bisexuals, etc.
The LGBT+ community is not a fun clubhouse, it is not an after school club. You are not the judge of which groups are HISTORICALLY part of this community.
I’ve seen posts about why “x” group shouldn’t be part of the community and comments like “that’s so well said” and “such a good point.”
NO! THEY ARE ALREADY PART OF THE COMMUNITY. ITS NOT UP TO YOU.
And because this post was inspired by a post about trans people on Instagram: THIS COMMUNITY WAS MADE BY TRANS PEOPLE.
Look up Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P Johnson. They were both self identifying drag queens and you owe them A LOT OF THANKS FOR THIS COMMUNITY!
