Any jily fic recs? I especially love pre-dating ones! I feel like I've read everything and need to find some hidden gems.
Alright, I get a lot of these soooo, here we go.
Firstly, my own fics because I’m trash:
Dating James Potter: This one is about them becoming friends ad then more than friends. It’s a completed multi-fic that I’m pretty proud of.
A Matter of Breathing: This one is an all dialogue fic that just adorable and it’s pre-jily until the end. It’s a one-shot.
Doctor Who, Chess and Bad Wedding Food: This is a one-shot as well, but it’s quite long (9k words). It’s about James showing up at Lily’s house in the middle of the summer and the two of them trying to work out how to be friends. I wrote it a while ago, but I still like this one too. We’ve got snarky Lily and awkward James so, it’s pretty great.
But then there’s so much more greatness out there too!
Like just today, I read Early Seventh Year, Part 1. It’s got no part 2 that I can find, but it’s really great if you like ust jily, and really, who doesn’t? It’s amazing.

Languages--8, 9 and 12!
8. Your favorite word in your second language. Okay so this is super silly, but when I was studying German in high school, my class just got a big kick out of the phrase “gleich um die Ecke” which means “right around the corner.” Literally every sentence ended in “gleich um die Ecke!” and my teacher was just annoyed, so I guess the word “Ecke” has a lot of fond memories. Either that or “Backpfeifengesicht” which basically translates to “a face in sore need of a fist.” Which I think is quite useful.
9. Your favorite word in a language you don’t really speak. I absolutely love the untranslatable words, and I would usually say “Fernweh” (homesickness for somewhere you haven't been) but that’s in German, so I’ll have to go with the Japanese “Komorebi” which describes light shining through a tree or a forest. :)
12. If you could pick one language to learn automatically without having to work for it, which language would you choose? I’d probably choose German so I can be 100% fluent, but if I had to pick another, I might do Irish because I love it or French so I could visit my cousins in Alsace.

Blahhh thank you but it'll suck. It's only an eight minute presentation and pretty much everyone else going today is in the same boat as me (aka no friggin clue what this man wants) so we're all kinda feeling the failure together. It's nice because we've all bonded over having no idea what to do with this professor.
