Lightning in the Dark - Chapter 19

Harry finds a letter in his vault at Gringotts from his mother that changes everything. He was not born in the natural course of things, but at a genetics research facility that his parents founded named Manticore. After making contact with the last of the other founders, he comes to learn more about his history and abilities. With that comes heavy expectations and difficult responsibilities. Will Harry prosper or fall apart?

This is very loosely based off the Dark Angel series, but it is absolutely not necessary to know anything about it as it is basically a few names and one concept.

My mind is blowing. Europe doesn't allow transgenics in plants but it's allowing genetic edition of plants to "adapt" them to grown on areas affected by drought.

Don't take me wrong this is good news, but transgenics and genetic edition is basically the same. Every transgenic crop is a crop that has been genetically edited, so I'm amazed by the hypocrisy Europe is showing

Just got some great feedback from a client that one of the KO cell editing projects I spent 5 months working on has a great phenotype! For those that don’t know, I work in research as a transgenic core specialist and I help design/make gene editing projects for mice, rats, and cell lines for other researchers. This means that I often hand off these transgenic projects without getting any feedback if they work as designed. This project was especially difficult, so its so rewarding to hear back from that client that the protein they wanted a KO of (basically getting rid of the protein all-together) is completely gone via western blot, and all this coming just in time to make it into their grant application!
