Had a lovely dream about a dear dead friend, and I’m so grateful he keeps traveling along side me.

The Disks on the Dream SMP are more than just a symbol of Tommy and Tubbos friendship. The Disks are from a time of innocence security and safety before all the wars and trauma. To Tommy’s character they remind him of that time, and in a way he feels like if he can get them back everything will be ok again. He is unable to separate the object from the actual feeling of safety.
That is why he is so intent on getting them back even though they have caused so much pain. Because, to him giving up on the disks is the same as giving up on happiness and safety.
The Disks represent lost innocence.
All I know about toy gender (and sexuality) is that it’s a lot more fluid, there isn’t as much a divide between being cis and being trans and/or nb, micro labels are big, being aroace is the norm and so are the concepts of relationship anarchy/polyamory.

Any autistic or other ND adults carry around a stuffed animal as a comfort object? Do people give you weird looks? How long have you been carrying it? How do you carry it? Is there anywhere you won't take it? Have you ever lost it?
unstoppable force (brain wanting to expand story to include other toy types) vs immovable object (me wanting the toys to be plushies only)
Honestly I don’t know if toys even really have a concept of gender.
