Full Name: Zuko Incendiary 

Role: Prince of the Fire Nation

Age: Seventeen

Nation: Fire Nation

Gender + Pronouns: Transmasc; he/him

Sexuality: Homosexual/gay

Personality: Zuko, despite his easy and loving life back in the Fire Nation, struggled with validating his feelings and his relationships with friends, thus he worked extra hard to earn their love and the like. Zuko also struggles with maintaining his emotions, often defaulting to anger when something unpredictable happens. This easily-triggered anger often leads to him saying and diving into situations that he'd regret later, while his sister does the opposite. 

However, easily-sprung anger isn't his only "negative" trait. Zuko will often prioritize his objectives ahead of his own safety, always making sure that he's the last one out of situations. If he's not able to complete his objectives right away, Zuko will become self-deprecating and fall into despair.

Zuko has high empathy (more on that later) and almost always later apologizes for his and others' actions (unless he deems them as not deserving of it, like people he views as enemies or people who were nothing but rude to him).

Description: Zuko has pale skin with several slash scars on his exposed shoulders. He wears a dark red tanktop of and black puffy pants, gloves, and boots just like his sister. He has messy, dark brown hair with bangs similar to his sister’s. Zuko has two dark brown sword sheaths that cross in an “X” shape over his chest. He has dull yellow eyes and a large burn scar that stretches over the left side of his face. His eye is visibly smaller and he has ever-present eyebags.

Backstory: When Zuko was young, he discovered that he had firebending. It was around the time his little sister Azula was born. He was a weak firebender; the biggest flame he was ever able to conjure was about the size of his palm. His parents were not mad; instead, they paid for lessons from the great master Piandao, and Zuko became a master at being able to fight with swords.

Small Details

-Zuko has AuDHD, anxiety, and depression (just like me!)

-Zuko’s favorite animal is a turtleduck

-If he doesn’t know what exactly to do, Zuko defaults to acting like Azula

-Zuko loves animals and drawing

-Zuko’s nervous stim is drumming his fingers against his thighs or scratching himself; he always bites his nails down to the pink but because of anxiety

-Zuko is very skilled in swordsmanship

-Zuko’s empathy makes him feel bad when doing literally anything as he tends to think a lot about others and always feels bad when he sees a struggling child, someone hurt that he can’t help, etc

(It’s basically me projecting onto him I can’t explain it well 💔)

-Zuko’s scar was the result of a firebending accident with his sister

-Zuko’s special interest is swords, animals, and swords

-Zuko is a weak firebender (already explained but thought I’d repeat it)

-Zuko rarely firebends and mainly pretends to be a non-bender

-He has many slash scars from failed practices and many arena fights

-Zuko has a condition where he has trouble falling asleep and staying asleep; tl:;dr, he has sleeping problems :/

-Despite his weak firebending, Zuko always has a consistent body heat that acts a basic portable heater (if that makes sense)

-Zuko sometimes has horrible intrusive thoughts

trans zukka ramble

watched more avatar with my best friend and also started SU (expect me ranting abt how much I love that show sometime, my favorite characters are peri (for the feral autistic aroace rep) and ruby (for the unhinged adhd hopeless romantic rep) both of which represent me deeply) BUT that isn't what this post is about I'm talking abt zukka today!

Okay so. Transmasc zukka. Hear me out. We already know that zuko is transmasculine right? He's got the tboy emo energy, the shitty first haircut and then shaves it and it grows out cute and fluffy, and he just has the right vibes. Plus his dad sucks and his clearly transmasculine uncle (iroh IS an elder trans man fight me) is very protective of him. His journey of self acceptance and growth just seems very gender-y to me, like he has to evolve past what his father has taught him about himself and the world and accept his true nature (in the show his true nature is good rather than evil, but that translates decently well). He's also. Literally just autistic. I don't need to explain this, he's autistic the way peridot is, like it's so fucking obvious that it's hard to believe it could have been unintentional (I straight up do not buy that peridot wasn't intended to be autistic, with zuko I can maybe let it slide but I don't want to).

Now for the part that I'm excited about!! So we know that Sokka has his misogyny arc, which a lot of people would assume rules out trans sokka pretty entirely unless you want to change that, but I honestly think it makes a lot of sense. He always wanted to emulate his father and the warriors in his tribe, and his only reference for masculinity was that type of warrior energy, so he assumes the two are inextricably linked- you have to be a man to be a warrior and a warrior to be a man. This is also why he's obsessed with protecting his family and being 'the man of the village' basically. He thinks that that's what makes him masculine. His desperation to prove his masculinity to himself and others is what ends up driving him down the path of Being An Asshole To Women, and suki's arc with him is still about how femininity can be strong and powerful, and how feminity and masculinity can coexist, and nothing 'makes' him a man except for him being one. Idk I like it a lot
