DID YOU KNOW - About the singular “they”?
(Text ID) The singular use of they, them, and theirs was brought about in the 14th century as a gender neutral way to refer to a person.
People use they/them/theirs pronouns for different reasons - regardless of where their gender identity might fall on the spectrum.
“They” is also a polite pronoun to use for someone you aren’t certain the gender of. “Someone left their bag on the bus!” “I haven’t met them.” “They told me to check aisle 6.”
DID YOU KNOW? The singular They was named Word of the Year for 2015 by the American Dialect Society, and for 2019 by Merriam-Webster. In 2020, the American Dialect Society also selected it as Word of the Decade for the 2010s.

This is my spy mech Transverse, who is a Decepticon undercover in Autobot ranks.
Transverse is an experienced spy from even before the war began. Several powerful players in Cybertron's criminal underground have used Transverse's skills for espionage or to gather information on rivals, though they never met the mech behind the deeds. Transverse joined the Decepticons as soon as he realized his source of income was threatened, and he was put on mission to dismantle Autobot outposts from the inside out and identify targets for Decepticon attacks. He has a screen face that he uses mainly while with the Autobots to make himself seem friendlier. On occasion he will use his screen to project a face similar to the last expression, with the single round "eye" and a jagged-toothed mouth, but when he's with his fellow Decepticons he usually he only projects maps or other tactical information or just leaves his screen blank.
Transverse's final mission before the Exile involved revealing the location of a secret Autobot research facility, which he as his disguise of Laserpoint was stationed at to guard. The three expressions on the right kind of reveal the final moments before the facility was overrun. Laserpoint and his fellow Autobots had been walking to grab a cube of energon following their shift at the outer perimiter when suddenly a Decepticon bursts from the vents above and attacks the closest Autobot (first expression). The other two Autobots fire at the intruder and turn to run for backup when more Decepticons appear in the busted vent, but they realize Laserpoint hasn't moved to follow. In fact when they yell for him to hurry, all Laserpoint does is smile (second expression). Then, like a light switch has been flipped, the familiar blue of Laserpoint's face turn red . . . and a whole lot of people started screaming.
