I'm incredibly confused by "tchèque". Who would willfully use a French spelling?
did you know that oscar wilde went and listed down some of the most beautiful words he’d heard in french and english alike just for a reference to use in the picture of dorian gray later and the madman did -- there’s french words in the picture of dorian gray just casually dropped around and that’s even words that aren’t exactly Common English Knowledge (tm)
my point is he did the thing,,, so can i

Hi, sorry for bothering you, but I was wondering how nicknames work in Hebrew? Like, with a name like Ariyah (that I really hope was used irl), can Ari be used? Do you take the first word or syllable, or repeat it? Any rules at all?
There’s no hard rule for how nicknames work in Hebrew. Different names can have many different nicknames.
Ari generally is a nickname for Arye, which is a guy’s name, unlike Aria, which is a girl’s name. So calling her Ari might be a bit confusing, but you can use it.
Ariyah is a very uncommon name nowadays so I don’t know if there’s a current nickname for it. I guess ‘Ria’ would be a good nickname.
I think enslavement has a more practical side? Like, I'd definitely say Hareton was a slave, but I don't think it's enough to fully describe his situation. Heathcliff had different motives than just "make him work for free".
You make a very good point here. He was enslaved but the motives weren’t simply to enslave.
