When I was a kid, I watched the movie Ratatouille 🍳🐀 and there's a scene where the main chef girl is teaching our protagonist how to maintain a clean uniform by keeping his arms tucked into his sides at all times.
My child-brain absolutely internalized this and from then on I always kept my arms tucked to my sides at all times.
This went really well actually.
I can't count the number of times I saved myself from bumping into a running student while turning tight corners. My hands tend to flop around unless I'm holding something tho, so I usually hold something like a bag-strap or just do the hand-in-pocket.
Overall, it's a very comfortable pose, and it makes me feel alert and productive and lady-like. I have this stance even around the house, it's second-nature to me.
Anyways, many years later, I discover TikTok and it turns out that I've accidentally adopted the classic
Neurodivergent T-Rex Arms
.....oops?
Did I mention I have ADHD? and maybe autism too but who knows anymore at this point
