yay! i knew it! best of luck (you'll miss publix, you know it)
Thank you! And yeah, I’m betting the first time I get a sub somewhere, I’m going to be disappointed. Good thing I can make sweet tea at home or I’d be really screwed.

Depends on your budget. Obviously it gets cheaper as you move away from the Loop. I've lived in Andersonville, Lakeview, and Old Town (farthest to closest). All good 'hoods, all under 1 hr. I really like Andersonville, kind of a town within a city.
Thank you - this is exactly the sort of advice I was hoping to get! :D I’ve mostly been looking around Mayfair or so, but that’s a little further away than the husband would ideally like. These are all good options, and Lakeview might just be perfect.

You won't miss Publix. Trust me.
I will defer to your expertise. :)

My aunt lived in the Gold Coast area; the corner of State and Schiller. Beautiful neighborhood and walking distance to downtown. But not cheap.
Oh man, that would be an amazing place to live. A bit above of our budget, sadly. Still awesome to look at!
