The funniest part about the fifth moon incident was undoubtedly Knives confidently striding into frame naked and Conrad flailing around and yelling at everyone to get to safety because naturally a man who negates to wear any clothing is an insane one
When Knives comes back, if he decides to kill any of his subordinates I am on my knees begging for it to be Conrad, please kill Conrad he needs to die BADLY
Trigun Stargaze Episode 11 Part 2
Continuation of Part 1
Continuing the parallel talk - as Meryl echoes Nai's sentiment with Elendira, we are shown a moment before, with Vash responding with Meryl's words.
Speaking of rejection. Throughout the story, Knives kept rejecting everyone, barely acknowledging the existence of his adoring followers. And now, when he is reaching with his whole being for his kin - he is completely rejected.
Now his only companion, the only other being that is worth acknowledging, is his brother.
But despite his wishes, Vash is far from asleep. Now willingly assimilated, on his way to the core.
But there he finds an answer to the question he was not ready for. Tesla's memories.
And the most horrible revelation of all - the truth. All this time, Nai has harbored Tesla's pain and horror. And as we've seen previously, even 150 years later it haunts him in his dreams. The constant obsession - what if we were in her place? Did Rem smile and claimed to love her too? Celebrated her birthday too? If we were the first - would Rem look away from our pain too?
This Vash didn't have time to process anything. He is still raw about the revelation of his worst nature after Legato's confrontation. And now he is assaulted with this.
And just like that this fear takes root in him too.
And all three of them, all three independents from the SEEDs fleet, trappend in this vortex of fear, loneliness, grief and rage, take the form of the biblical Leviathan, to rain it's wrath upon all.
End of Part 2.
Honorable mention - Conrad is ending up quite a centerpiece of the story. He was there at the start of it all, before the twins were even born, Fascilitated all of those horrors in Knives's name and yet never seemed to truly grasp that the torment he inflicted on his creations was not unavoidable at all. I can't wait to see his fate.
I need your help people -> Send me some music

Vashs Theme Knives Theme Wolfwoods Theme Legatos Theme Meryls Theme Zazies Theme Livios/Razlos Theme Millys Theme Luidas Theme Elendiras Theme Teslas Theme Conrads Theme Brads Theme - Whoever comes to your mind. I take it - I need it! Just submit!
So been stewing on what to do for the whole July incident in Dormant seeds. On one hand, I'm not quite settled on how we get to leveling a whole city and two uh, what do to with Knives. As I'm vaguely following the tristamp lore, this has been a little hard to sort out.
Honestly? I have this idea that the Eye of Michael who is still, very much a cult obsessed with plants and the twins, cause the incident and blame it on the twins. They lure them there via kidnapped plants (and the gun ho guns) and attempt to take control of them to some.
Conrad, whos leading the cult wants the twins abilities to try and force replicate how Independent plants are made. While Elendria, whos basically a christ figure for the cult, wants to see just what other independent plants are like since her only knowledge on them is herself, the various stories about the twins and the whispers of the plants they do have around.
Big twist? Tesla's remains are brought into this. Shes still "alive" (as alive as being hooked up to a crazy live support and still im multiple jars can be). She's hooked up to Knives to puppet his body some so they can get the cube out of Vash.
The twins are ultimately rescued by Meryl and Legato who manage to get them out of the tank and shut things down... kind of. Knives and Vash through this whole situation are forced into their angel/plant forms. Knives, having Tesla kinda in his head going out of control and Vash trying to stop him. This all leading up to Vash's angel arm being activated above July.
The horror of Vash begging Knives to stop while Knives struggles to reel himself in. Ultimately being blasted point blank with the angel arm, while Tesla uses his body to try and claw for the cube.
July is destroyed in the end, Legato and Meryl got saved by Wolfwood before they could be caught in the blast. Vash is MIA and Knives? He's believed to be dead. Elendira and Conrad got what they wanted, proof for the hivemind, proof of just what Vash and Knives COULD do, and a real showing of how the cult was 'right' about things, giving them more power and a wider spread as eye of Michael goes fully public as a group wanting to help after the damage done during the July incident.
This is gonna come bite then in the ass after the time skip when try try to bring Knives back. (We're doing the 'he comes back wrong' trope but thats for a different post). But this also might just get scrapped and replaces with a different idea.
And of course, we get to introduce a concept I've been stewing on which is Tesla and her part in the story. We're giving our girl an active role! Kinda. She died scared and angry at humans, but being kept alive to some degree allowed her some control over the hivemind. Just enough she can be used like a weapon by Conrad/The Eye of Michael. If anything, she's more just scared, unaware of whats really going on and trying to keeo herself safe.
Of course, this is all like really vague ideas and hypotheticals. Im not ACTUALLY set on how July takes place outside of yk, the time skip having to take place. I might have a version where both the twins live or smthn. If anyone has ideas or things they wanna add please feel free to do so 🙏 I always love hearing other people's takes.
Also! If you wanna write anything for the Dormant seeds au, feel free to do so, just tag me so I can see it :3c.
Dormant seeds Master post here as always <3
Tristamp Knives and Dr. Conrad drive me insane, because what are they like? What’s the nature of the dynamic that’s clearly there? Unlike other trigun iterations they seem a lot closer to each other in tristamp, Dr. Conrad clearly cares for Knives (and by extension Vash) and the way he acts with Knives is just *honk honk* Yes, it could be the guilt and fear for his life, but the one thing we do learn about Dr. Conrad is that he’s trying to atone for what happened with Tesla, and he almost jumps on the chance when Knives confronts him. Which again. could be the fear for his life, but it somehow doesn’t feel like that. And the work Conrad does for Knives, he’s not lost in the sauce like Legato but he’s very deeply invested and believes in what he’s doing, or at least his older self does. It would be interesting to see just much those two affected and changed each other over the years, because the Knives and Conrad during the events of Stampede are not the Knives and Conrad we see in flashbacks. Past Knives and Conrad are more emotive, more impulsive, and to a point, both not really sure what they’re doing, at least until the events of that one fated Last Run in July. And the thing about Conrad is that he cares. We see it in the picture he has with Tesla, his arm around her shoulders, the way he calls Knives “my boy,” the way he’s overjoyed to see him alive, the way he protects Knives when he’s witnessing the Last Run, first trying to keep him from seeing it all, and then from the guards that come, the way when we first see him in tristamp he’s holding Elendria’s hand, the way he objects to Legato’s ragdolling of Wolfwood, those are the most apparent examples, although there’s more. And then there’s his interactions with Knives. He immediately catapults to Knives’ side when Knives finds him in July, and afterwards he presumably puts his resources at Knives’ disposable, since Conrad was loaded in July, and because later we see that his penthouse has been converted to the EoM headquarters. It’s not apparent as much with past Knives and Conrad, (although the most salient point is when Conrad runs up to Knives when first seeing him) but there’s a camaraderie there that’s apparent in present day stampede, when Dr. Conrad shows up to Jenora rock and Knives tells him “Oh, you finally decided to show, Doctor,” it comes off almost as teasing. Later, we see Knives sitting around very informally to talk to Conrad, and then there’s the way he always calls Conrad Doctor, and how Conrad always addresses him as Knives in turn, even though Knives is Lord Knives to everyone else. There’s something there, some measure of trust and equality between them, and again, Conrad cares, and cares rather deeply for Knives. It could be that Knives fosters that care unconsciously, reciprocates or responds to it in someway. After all, Dr. Conrad was there for some of the most traumatic or defining experiences of Knives’ life sans Tesla, the Last Run, Vash’s arm, Vash’s rejection of him, he was the only one Knives was close to for years after, until the EoM was formed. They did have one hundred and fifty years together, after all. You don’t survive that long a time without having an understanding with each other. There’s so much that’s interesting in their relationship, at least what we see of it onscreen, and it’s even more interesting to consider just what they were to each other.
TriStamp Conrad: I hypothesize that the key difference between Plants and Independents is the existence of a soul. Also TriStamp Conrad:
