The only trinoline fanfic i think

It was during the summer of 1980 when Mendel started acting distant. Perhaps he was depressed, perhaps he was busy... or perhaps he was leading a secret life, cheating on his wife. Having learned her lesson with Marvin, Trina assumed the latter. Not knowing where to start her investigation, Trina figured one of his patients would be an easy (though immoral) person for him to choose. So one night after Mendel was good and fast asleep, she crept into his study and stole his notepad. Knowing Mendel would never read it, she hid it in a psychology book Marvin had bought him rather pettily as a wedding gift.

Trina woke up late that morning, and found Mendel frantically searching for his notepad. Trina was not the most experienced liar but she had picked up a thing or two from her ex. Mendel borrowed some paper from Trina's son (without his permission, he was visiting his father). Once she was sure he had left for the day, Trina retrieved her secret. Silently she pored over the notepad, taking note of how few patients he had. A few pages in she found his notes on herself. As she read what he wrote about her she realized this man would never cheat on her. At this point she was addicted and so she read on.

One of her husbands patients stood out to her... She was kind, too kind. Her empathy caused major roadblocks in her life, she obsessed over who to donate to. And she was sad. And Trina could relate to that. The more she read, the more she fell in love. The mindless doodles her husband had drawn of the patient were beautiful. Trina even loved her name... Caroline.

Synopsis:
