Trioships! :D “Hey, I’m with you, okay? Always.” “It could be worse.”“We’re in the middle of a thunderstorm and you wanna stop and feel the rain?” “I can’t believe you talked me into this.”“It’s not what it looks like…” Any one is fine, I just threw a bunch in so you'd have a choice to pick from, haha. Though together they're getting an interesting narrative going, pfft.

”It could be worse!”

M-21 and Takeo both stopped and stared at Tao, incredulity written all over their faces—in their wide eyes, raised eyebrows and open mouths with downturned lips.

“What? It could be!” Tao said defensively, a slight pout making its way across his face.

M-21 pinched the bridge of his nose and gritted his teeth; the chains around his wrists jangled loudly.

“How could it possibly be worse? We don’t know where we are, you’re both injured and bleeding and I’m wrapped in heavy chains that none of us can break. The chains limits my ability to move, which slows me down. Your wounds slow you down, and we probably have a horde of enemies trying to find us. We have no way of getting help and, again, we don’t know where we are! How could it be worse?!”

The was a pregnant pause.

“Well… At least it’s not raining?”

M-21 closed his eyes and turned his face to the sky as if begging for patience.

“Let’s just keep moving. Standing still in a defenceless location is a very bad idea considering our circumstances,” Takeo said and made a waving motion forwards with one hand.

M-21 let out an ugly snort and started walking, the other two quickly following.

“I still think it could be worse,” Tao mumbled and crossed his arms over his chest.

When it started raining about thirty minutes later no one said anything, but M-21 shot Tao a look that could only be described as “livid”.

Tao flopped down on the bed—right on top of M-21 and Takeo—and buried his face in his pillow.

Some seconds of flailing, twisting and grunting later, all three of them were curled together and comfortable.

“See?” Tao mumbled a few moments before they dropped off into sleep. “It could have been so much worse. We made it out alive, so it definitely could have been worse!”

M-21 snorted, but ruffled Tao’s hair affectionately, and Takeo laughed gently.

Fair enough, it could have been worse.
