yknow i should’ve expected this

so this is Kat, from a story tentatively titled Triske because that was the original title when this was a way way WAY different story.

He’s from a country called Orvech that I’ve loosely based off a mishmash of south asian cultures, and his specific clan/people are called the Eika. They’re (relatively) immortal, only dying after they get old enough to WANT to die and then they just kind of... turn to ash. They worship a fire goddess called Eliana, and when they come of age they go through a ritual where they get those scarification marks on their face (families/clans have signature marks, a long time ago they were coded to your profession tho) as well as the ability to manipulate and be immune to fire.

Kat is a bit of a mystery, which is odd because he’s a very cheerful and outgoing person and seems to be very open. He chose the name Kat (not knowing how to spell cat) for himself because it sounded exotic. He’s well traveled but has a hard time learning other languages (words in general escape him, he’s mostly illiterate) which has hindered him a bit. He lost his arm in a brutal fight he prefers not to talk about, and he lives with his wife (who’s an even bigger mystery than him) on the outskirts of the village and doesn’t have a family he ever speaks of.
