The main villain of Trolls 4 was a Kurt Cobain lookalike and conservatives were mad cause the end of the movie implied him Poppy and Branch were in a poly relationship.

🎛️ Movie 4 Predictions “Inside DreamWorks’ Glitter Brain”

(or: How They Decide Which Trolls Deserve To Exist)

So, you think we can predict the next Trolls movie? Wrong. You have to decode it. These producers don’t just pull genres out of a sequin hat. They run on ✨vibes✨, nostalgia, emotional relatability, and the eternal question: “Will a six-year-old cry or dance to this?”

Let’s Peel this Rainbow Onion 🧅🌈

Emotional Core > Plot Logic

Every movie isn’t about who sings what. It’s about what emotion you’re supposed to feel while they’re singing it.

Movie 1: Joy vs. Fear. Branch is basically a walking panic attack with good hair

Movie 2: Identity vs. Unity. Barb says 'world tour,' but it’s basically group therapy with guitars

Movie 3: Family vs. Independence. BroZone reunion = musical trauma healing

So Movie 4? It won’t start with 'new tribe' or 'new villain.' It’ll start with a feeling. Probably something like: “How do you protect what you’ve built when the world keeps changing?”Legacy vs. Change.

The Ghosts of The Past 👻

Miss Guffin. The Mariachi Sisters and The Barbershop Boys. Names that sound like they came straight from a rainbow focus group. These weren’t bad characters. They just didn’t pass the three holy Trolls commandments:

Can a kid understand this in under 5 seconds?

Can parents relate, and cry about it later?

Can we sell it on a lunchbox?

Mariachi Sisters? Might’ve been too close to Coco tonally -> Disney territory. Barbershop Boys? Too 'your grandpa’s Spotify playlist.' Movie 4 could easily bring some of those shelved ideas back, repackaged as 'new.' Because we know they do. When the producers shelved them, and here’s the kicker, they never throw anything away. They just wait for the vibe shift. Let's look at some examples:

Miss Guffin: She was cut, but her design was later repurposed for Grandma Rosiepuff

Fuzzbert and Smidge: These characters were originally planned to be at the royal wedding in Trolls Band Together, but were cut from the final version

Cloud Guy: He appears in the films, but his scenes and role were significantly reduced. A plot scene that got cut still made its way into the credits when we see him with Janet and kids

Maddy and Cybil: These two characters were cut from the first film but were included in later, in The Beat Goes On! and TrollsTopia.

Spin-offs = Glitter Test Labs 🧪

DreamWorks has a system:

Movie = Big Feelings

Series = “What if we vibed with this feeling longer?”

The Beat Goes On → testing the slice-of-life humor. Trollstopia → testing tribe dynamics and merch potential. Next series (let's hope it's coming) = BroZone + Viva hangouts, emotional jam sessions, slice of Life-vibes.

If people latch onto anything specific there? Boom. Movie 4 plotline ready.

The Nostalgia Formula™

Every villain or visual reference ties to something your millennial brain half-remembers.

The trolls themself = Troll toys from 1959

Velvet & Veneer = Betty Spaghetty dolls from 1998

Mr. Dinkles = Trolli candy from 1981

Poppy’s scrapbook aesthetic = literal 90s Lisa Frank fever dream

So whatever comes next will tap into another nostalgic pulse, most likely 90s/2000s toys. Their ideas are not random. It’s strategic.

Big World → Small World → Big World Again 🌎

This is the DreamWorks rhythm.

Movie 1: personal story (Branch + Poppy)

Movie 2: big world (tribes, genre diplomacy)

Movie 3: personal story again (family, trauma, healing) ➡️ Movie 4 = big world time again, baby

But not just tribes, we’re talking global, magical, maybe even metaphysical troll lore. Music as life-force. Instruments with souls (pennywhistle). And a shiny new villain from a lost toy line.

💬 Final Thoughts

You can’t predict a Trolls movie just by looking at the story. You have to predict it by what they were too afraid to show you last time.

They didn’t cut Karma because she didn’t fit. They cut her because she wasn’t relatable or useful yet.

Movie 4 will make you cry, sing, and probably make you buy some merchandise. And when it drops, we’ll all pretend we didn’t see it coming, even though we decoded it right here.

Okay, so allegedly there is plans for there to be 7 Trolls movies and lets say these current 3 movies are telling us the story of Branch and Poppy's relationship:

Trolls - Broppy becoming friends Trolls World Tour - Broppy confession Trolls Band Together - Broppy are dating

So with these future movies, what if they continue telling us Broppy's story and their developing romance. Here's how I think Broppy's relationship will go in future movies:

Trolls 4 - Broppy proposal (maybe it can be a parallel to the 2nd movie with Branch trying to propose but he keeps messing it up/too nervous/"I'm waiting for the PERFECT moment!") Trolls 5 - Broppy wedding (Viva is going to plan it all like she and Poppy said they'd do for each other in the 3rd movie. Also let's bring in all the other music Trolls from 2nd movie to attend the wedding) Trolls 6 - Broppy family (maybe seeing Broppy as newly parents or soon to be parents) Trolls 7 - Broppy's kids going on adventures (symbolizing of the next generation of these Pop trolls and their future adventures)

What do you want trolls 4 to be about

I physically, mentally, psychologically and spiritually need Trolls 4 to have something to do Branch and Poppy's wedding.

Picture with me the opening scene is what looks like your average Branch and Poppy date, but Branch is extra nervous for some reason???? 🤔 I wonder why?

He starts a speech of "Poppy, we've known each other a long time...."

Buuuut what WE see are his brothers and Viva and the Snack Pack all doing everything in their power to stop anything from ruining the proposal.

Like random Trolls and snakes and stuff are JUST about to interrupt the proposal.

Floyd and Smidge coordinating defenses with binoculars.

Clay using sticky hands to stop Cooper from barging in.

Viva chloforming someone (maybe Creek 😁) and yeets them into a bush.

Bruce and his kids rerouting some loud partygoer Trolls.

JD full on wrestling a snake. 🐍

And Branch finally gets down on one knee with a ring box.

Poppy says "Stop!"

And everyone freezes, the brothers, the Snack Pack, even the snake stops in shock.

Branch 😨

Then Poppy pulls out her own ring box. 💍

She was proposing as well.

Yay! They both say yes and they celebrate.

Then the whole movie is just a disaster after disaster and setback after setback for wedding preparation.

Maybe some villain is sabotaging the wedding??? 🤔

after talking with some fellow fans the other day I do actually Really like the idea of Poppy's mother coming in a future film and being the Villain.

as it is another way the films could Develop Poppy in an interesting way

having her and Viva find out their mother is alive maybe after Peppy had told them she had died when they were both kids but it was in order to protect them

as he had to either leave or banish their mother due to her being an evil person who maybe was some sorta vicious bloodthirsty queen and Peppy and the other Pop Trolls just wanted to live in peace.

but in present day she's back with her own army but Despite Peppy's warnings about how Dangerous she is Poppy doesn't want to listen as of course she wants to believe she can make peace with her mother

and have her back in their lives but she eventually comes to learn that her mother is just a legit evil person who doesn't give a stuff about her or Viva

and she has to accept that someone being family doesn't always mean they are good for you

properly this time not the Half-hearted arc she went through in TBT.

and if Brozone are still around in the next film she can be compared to them and how in this movie we could see them still trying and failing to make a connection with Branch after all this time

but unlike Poppy's mother they do actually care enough to keep on trying

and so far have really tried to not let Branch down again after he gave them another chance sorta the opposite of Poppy's mother who she wants to give another chance to but she just doesn't care enough to try

and maybe she only briefly plays nice with Poppy in order to trick her so she can get something she wants from her thus letting her down yet again and showing no remorse at all.

the Poppy angst could be great tbh.

also after betraying her the mom could Boop her just for added insult lol

also another comparison we could maybe make between them and Brozone is that the mother was left or banished by Peppy for some evil actions

and she still holds a deep resentment all these years later to the point she'd be willing to wipe out the entire Pop Tribe her daughters included just to get Revenge on him

and that could maybe be her main motive in the film wanting to Destroy the entire Tribe that Banished her mainly for Revenge against Peppy.

and in the end after she's defeated she's put in a cell screaming and raging at Peppy showing Poppy and Viva she well and truly has no love for them

and showing that their mom is basically just an empty selfish vessel who's consumed by bitterness and anger towards Peppy on the inside

which maybe seeing this makes Brozone a touch more glad they were all able to reconnect and that Branch didn't stay mad at them and gave them another shot

and didn't let himself get consumed by anger and bitterness when he was alone all those years

and Branch himself is even a touch more appreciative that his Bros care enough to keep on trying to make things work in present day unlike Poppy's mother even if it is Hard and somewhat awkward

and they all share a kinda somber but also grateful Hug that they at least still have a chance in present day unlike Poppy and her mother.

so yeah what do you think? I feel the evil parents angle would be nice to see for either Poppy or Bro zone in future but mainly Poppy could actually have an interesting arc

given her past attitudes on family and always believing in people being Redeemed and whatnot

also I think this would work well for a bit of Poppy angst for a change same with Viva 😭😭😭😭

just leave Branch alone angst wise next movie and let him just act as a support for Poppy's issues while still seeing a few scenes of

his family actually making the effort with him for a change even if they do keep messing up accidentally.
