Reading Moominland Midwinter is like. Your friends and family will always love you. You will feel a bit lonely and sad forever. The bitter winter will go away but it's important to let it stay for a while. There is a part of you that will never understand and there is a part of you that will never be understood. Strange creatures exist and they are different from you. Sometimes you need to be a little mean. Your heart will always yearn for something you can't quite name but it's okay because you can drink tea. Spring is arriving.
Det är inte lätt att vakna ur sitt vinteride i januari och inte kunna somna om igen. I början av Trollvinter är Mumintrollet förfärligt ensa
oooooooh i just found out that the national broadcasting company has some Moomin books narrated by Tove Jansson herself available for listening ❤️❤️❤️ listening to her voice is so lovely, i mean, she really existed!!!!!! (she’s seemed too fabulous to be true before)
also, the Finnish Swedish dialect is so pretty and i don’t get the hear it often enough.
Alright, finally got the new version of Moominland Midwinter in the mail. Definitely appreciated to have the color illustrations reprinted like this. For context, the 1961 Italian edition of Moominland Midwinter had six additional color illustrations that have been sporadically reprinted up until this new publication. The first and last ones are notoriously rare, I previously only had blurry pictures of them. (See below)
Overall, color illustrations aside, this is a very nice and luxurious edition printed in a larger format than ordinary. Contains some doctored illustrations, presumably to liven up the pages more, so perhaps not for the absolute purists. Definitely a kid friendly version, though!

Allting är mycket osäkert, och det är just det som lugnar mig.
