Every Fan Of Eurovision Is A True Fan Of Eurovision
What does it mean to be a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest? As ‘Eurovision Fever’ builds in the United Kingdom ahead of Liverpool’s hosting of the Song Contest, more people are talking about the Contest, their love for the Contest, and how excited they are to get tickets when they decided to try and get into the Liverpool Arena.
It’s wonderful to see so many joining the community. But there’s…
Tom Hiddleston got the big ovation. An audience member at “Betrayal” on Broadway, which the “Night Manager” actor is starring in, was moved
This is not exactly confirmed. It’s going off a message thread found on a Broadway chat page. I hope it’s not true - seriously, that’s a sexual act in front of a non-consenting audience - but Hiddlestoners are a different breed. I don’t want to say that, but....y’all...
I’m not assuming this based on hearsay or what Tumblr has to say on the matter. I’ve got firsthand experience seeing Betrayal back in March during its London run.
You had adult women screaming curses at other fans for the crime of standing slightly in the way of someone’s photo of him. Fans were climbing over each other in a rush to get out the side doors and get in the autograph line. I saw a young woman violently pushed to the ground in the rush and NO ONE slowed down except for me. This chick could have had her head smashed in. I had people yelling at me for stooping down to help her get back to her feet. How dare I keep them from getting a spot in line because this poor woman was in real danger of being trampled?
People cut in line and threatened those who balked. They complained, seemingly endlessly, that fans in front of them were taking too long with him. Did their experiences matter less than theirs? We’re all there because of our love of Tom - why does it have to devolve into petty bitchery?
To that point, why weren’t his fans - seemingly all there because of our love of him - supporting each other instead of literally trying to push them down?
Tom used to be so open with fans. These kinds of experiences have clearly worn on him, and it came to a head (imho) after the disaster that was Hiddleswift. Now that he’s in New York, on Broadway, and having learned hard lessons from the past, he’s clearly happier! He looks genuinely content in the pap photos, he’s got the Loki series to film, he’s got a new (DOUBLE-BREASTED) suit!
...and then (reportedly), some weirdo got herself off twice in clear view of Tom as he was performing.
If these cunts don’t stop this patently inappropriate nonsense, Tom isn’t going to make himself available after a show. He’s not going to open himself up the way he only recently felt comfortable doing so. Y’all will push him into reticence and self-preservation once again.
I was 15 when N*SYNC and The Backstreet Boys first entered the scene. I went to the concerts. I stood nearly drowning in a pool of boiling hormones. We weren’t innocent. We wanted to fuck the shit out of or be fucked senseless by those boys. But never, in all my times in the crowd or backstage, did we behave so lewdly or abominably. We liked them and we treated them accordingly.
But adult women (and men) cannot? You’re better than this. If you like him or love him, RESPECT HIM.
