The research speaks for itself.
You evolved from frugivores, although we needed dense sources of fat and calories in the form of animal products as hunter gatherers, those days are long over.
The positive effects of adding omega 3s to your diet are astounding, from reducing inflammation to majorly increasing vascular and heart health, and so so much more. I literally feel the difference when I’m ingesting my omega 3s regularly! They’re really a hidden health key not enough people discuss.
So how do you get them on a plant based diet? Easy! Flax seeds (ideally ground) are your best and cheapest bet. Although many will say the ALA in them doesn’t compare to the EPA and DHA found in fish oil, biochemically, ALA is converted to EPA and DHA within the body, and the scientific literature on the subject shows the same benefits are seen with flax ingestion and taking fish oil.
