I miss the Neurotic trait in Sims 3.

So, I set out to make them seem real and fleshed out in the Sims 2! Just as I am doing with the other traits.

As my new bio states, "I hated this world so much that I built my own"...

This is a new 3t2 traits mod! And I am the proudest of this one so far. I think it's personally the coolest thing I've done yet!

It's a small effect, but noticeable and I finally reproduced it this morning after trying to organically get a Neurotic Sim to break a toilet.

I also found it weird that no Sims react to the toilet clogging except an angry parent lecturing their child.

So this mod fleshes out a few things.

Unlucky, Absent-Minded, and Childish will have a higher risk of clogging the toilet.

Neurotic Sims have a new interaction! Well not really new... but...

There is an animation called "Why Me?" and I think it's hilarious. The Sim almost freaks out but then takes deep breaths and calms down.

I decided to add this to Neurotics who will do this animation if a toilet clogs after they flush the toilet and if their mood is low. It will also work if the toilet is already clogged by someone else apparently. There are other effects for the different age groups. They all will do a different animation if their mood is high. Their Comfort motive will also drop significantly!

I couldn't figure out if the animation is base game or not... Idk how that works so I'm going to just assume that you probably need Ultimate Collection. Hey, it's the best, so get it now!

Pescado/MATY also has a Plumbing - Less Breakage mod that won't work with this! If you're unclear, just err on the side of caution and load whoever's mod affects you want last alphabetically in your downloads folder.

I also am working on affects for the sink breaking and for the bathtub! I will combine them all but go ahead and test this one out in the meantime!

Hi Cari, love the trait mod expansion, can you show me if it's possible to tune your (Get) Straight Outta the Kitchen? It's diabolical but I want my Terrible Cooks to burn 100% of the time 😅

Hi @swishbishbosch, thanks for the love! It’s totally possible but I’m on vacation until next weekend so I can’t check in simpe. I feel like there is probably a BCON in the mod so all you should have to do is find the line for Terrible Cook odds and crank it up to 100 (64).

NEW: +20% chance of burning food/starting a fire for Terrible Cooks

NEW: -5% chance of burning food/starting a fire for the Disciplined

Existing: + 10% chance of burning food/stating a fire for the Absent-Minded

Existing: Never burn food or start a fire (**unless action is canceled**) for Natural Cooks

Part 1: New Traits!

What you get: 16 new trait object files for your personality diversity pleasure. Most of them are opposites of existing 3t2 traits that didn't already have them. One is just because :)

Big Spender (opposite of Frugal)

Black Thumb (opposite of Green Thumb)

Can't Carry a Tune (opposite of Virtuoso)

Climate Denier (opposite of Eco-Friendly)

Difficulty Reading (opposite of Bookworm)

Dislikes Animals (opposite of Animal Lover)

(*) I know @lilbabydilljr released a Dreamer trait already as part of the hidden/scrapped TS3 traits collection, but I wanted to change the flavor text and concept of it. My spouseman is a real dreamer-content-to-dream and I felt the TS3 scrapped version was too close to Ambitious. So @cityof2morrow made a different icon for it, and changed the GUID as well because Dill's conflicts with HB's simlife goggles. However, the file name is the same as Dill's and will overwrite it.

ETA: These are traits objects that WILL appear in your catalog in Gen/Misc. They are NOT added to the traits collection file as I don't use it. Feel free to do so yourself, of course.

What's coming next: Updates to existing traits mods that are plausibly affected by these traits (plus some personal preference tuning). Check out the to-do list here. Suggestions welcome and encouraged! Anyone who would like early access as a beta tester, please let us know!

Everyone: I have some deveolpments regarding music choices and traits.

Okayyy, so I fiddled with a BHAV within the StereoGlobals and used “Proper” as a trait for Classical music. Also, I believe I’ve learned why the radio station defaults to Salsa. It may have been coded, just as something to get the radio going, and EA didn’t manage to add a randomizer BHAV to the code, which would have been nice.  Now that we know it’s entirely possible, I want to hear from you. With the music choices we have in game (and I’m determined to add the BV/FreeTime/etc. stations to this; they aren’t options within the BCONs and Attributes for some reason) please let me know in the comments below or reblog what traits and music types you’d like to see matched up to which traits. 

Of course, I will try and match up to the best of my ability, but I’d love to hear your ideas!

omg, since i don’t play with the never nude trait, i completely forgot about it until this exact moment.  the next version of ultimate hiking overhaul will definitely include it.
