This is an edit of functional cigarettes by Jacky93Sims.
I wanted some kind of consequence for smoking in my game, but I couldn't figure out how to code for a Sim smoking cigarettes for a long period of time, and how that would factor into possible health detriments.
So, I made cigarettes decrease hygiene and they will also cause fires under certain circumstances:
Sim must have Clumsy trait
Sim must be indoors
Sim must be close to either a sofa, rug, or comfy/reclining chair.
Then, there is a four percent chance of starting a fire when they finish smoking.
More chaos! Yay!

I'm currently in the testing process for V2 of my Trait-Based Chemistry mod, but I wanted to go ahead and share this first, since I intend these to be used with that mod.
The original 3t2 traits were released 6 years ago, and I thought it was time for a fresh look. And while Flippity Flop traits by @anachronisims/@cityof2morrow filled in some gaps, I still felt like there were some aspects of real life personalities that were missing. And like most things, I started working on this and couldn't stop. Here's what you'll find in the download folders:
New icons for 3t2 & Flippity Flop traits, using 4t2 icons
Increased texture size for all traits, so they look a bit nicer in Sims' inventories - these went from 128x64 to 256x128 (preview below the cut)
9 new traits to complement the above sets
New icons for some "bonus" traits like @tammyhybrid21's Alien trait and @midgethetree's Fairy trait, plus 8 new completer bonus traits
Mesh swap of Simlogical's Prisoner Tag to fit the same format as the traits
Optional renamed traits (included in a separate folder with credits where applicable)
Trait randomizer program using Hook's RandomStuff
All traits use their original GUIDs and file names so you can just replace them in your downloads folder if you have the originals. You may need to manually refresh thumbnails in-game to see the new icons.
‼️The collection file is required - these objects will not show up in the catalog. If you are new to using traits, you also MUST have the trait_MAIN file from the original traits project post.
It's been ages since I shared anything and I started this project months ago, so it's highly possible I made a mistake somewhere. Let me know if you run into any issues!

Updated 2/16/25: Fixed an error where some of the renamed traits were showing in the catalog instead of collection only. Archives have been updated.
Updated 2/20/25: The Minimalist trait texture was showing up as a recolor for Black Thumb, and I accidentally packaged a version of the Prisoner trait without the custom thumbnail. Archives have been updated but you can get the individual files here.
Updated 8/29/25: An anon let me know ages ago that the renamed Mooch/Greedy trait had an incorrect texture. Archives have been updated, but you can download the fixed trait separately here.

Preview of 3t2 traits, bonus trait with new background color, and prisoner tag mesh change:
I found an amazing text replacement for the Traits Project by @equinoxts2. This replaces the Good trait to be Generous, and Evil to be Devious. I like vir's change to the original traits as good and evil are pretty weighty words and I barely put them on my sims. However, my friendgroup has made the word devious into a funny and silly word, so I renamed it 'Cruel'.
"Generous Sims go out of their way to help friends and family in need, are charitable with their money and frequently comfort those around them."
"Cruel Sims take great delight in planning the misfortune of others and prefer to lead a life of scheming and manipulation."
This mod is the exact same as vir's mod that I linked above, I just changed the Evil trait to say Cruel instead of Devious. Take out the trait_evil.package and trait_good.package files before putting mine in.
Hello again, lovely Simmers! I have an interesting (albeit niche) set of mods for you today.
Within this post, you'll find mods for the following:
A chance for your Sims to survive the Cowplant, based on their traits and energy motive!
Cowplant autonomy adjusted for traits, including an option to allow household members to autonomously grab the cake!
A mod to re-enable a hidden interaction where you can try and save a potential Cowplant victim from being eaten! (See caveats below the cut)
A simple mod that will pan your camera if a Sim is being eaten by the Cowplant!
Details and more below the cut!
Cowplant Survival is a series of mods based around enhancing the Cowplant experience for the Simmers who dare to have one. These mods are also tunable to your preferences, with BCONs provided in Cowplant Survival and Cowplant Autonomy to tweak survival and autonomy chances. Make sure to read the included Readme to find details about tuning.
Cowplant Survival
The main mod in this pack revolves around your Sim managing to fend off the Cowplant, sort of like how they can survive it in the Sims 3 with the right traits. However! it is not a guarantee.
Sims with the Lucky, Brave, Daredevil, Good and Unlucky traits will all get bonuses (or malus, if you're Unlucky) to their chance to survive.
Sims with a high energy motive will also get a bonus to their chance to survive. Conversely, Sims with low energy will actually suffer a malus to their chances.
As a bonus, Sims with the Daredevil trait will also get a nice Fun boost if they manage to beat the Cowplant at their own game!
After a failed attempt to eat a Sim, the Cowplant will cut its losses and pull the cake away for a short bit, allowing you to address the near miss so it won't happen again in the future. Unless it's your intention to actually let Sims get eaten, of course.
Cowplant Autonomy - With Traits!
Traits and motive levels will now factor into whether a Sim will autonomously try to Grab the Cake.
Sims with the Coward or Genius trait will no longer autonomously try to Grab the Cake, regardless of their motives.
Sims will also only try to grab the cake if their hunger motive is very low (-50 by default).
Daredevils, however, don't care about hunger, and will instead try to autonomously Grab the Cake if their fun motive is very low (-50 by default).
WARNING - There are two variants of this mod, Townies Only and EXTREME!
EXTREME enables the option for household members to autonomously Grab the Cake, so use this variant at your own risk. As far as I have tested, it will not eat inactive household members but if you have any problems, please report it to me!
Cowplant - Save Victim
Whilst researching for this mod, I found a hidden interaction that was disabled by default. This interaction allows a second sim to throw a tantrum at the Cowplant if it is in the process of trying to eat a Sim. This mod simply re-enables it. However, I have not changed the interaction itself at all.
The interaction has a short window in which it can work and may not work every time. When I have time and energy later I may tweak this interaction to see if I can get it to function better, but as it is, use this at your own risk. It shouldn't break your game but I cannot guarantee that it works 100%. It likely works best when the Cowplant sniffs a Sim before eating. Sometimes the Cowplant will go straight to eating instead, and this likely doesn't work if that happens.
Cowplant - Camera Control
This mod is a simple change that simply pans the camera to the offending Cowplant if it successfully manages to eat a Sim, so you're at least aware if it eats a random townie and you're not left wondering why your Sim rolled a want to turn someone into a Zombie when they were just there a second ago... (this actually happened).
Conflicts and Requirements
All of these mods were created with Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. It is likely (but not guaranteed) that these mods will conflict with any that change the Cowplant functions. These mods all require University to work. Here are the individual mod requirements:

Cowplant Survival and Cowplant Autonomy require Easy Inventory Check by Hexagonal-Bipyramid, who is also the lovely author of the traits project! These mods (obviously) also requires their traits mod, found here.
Please remember to let me know if you have any problems with this mod, as I have only tested it in my own game!
Here’s another trait text default replacement from me! As the title implies, it replaces the Neurotic trait with Worrier - that happened to be the last trait name that still bothered me. Now your sims can still be anxious about all sorts of things, but the negative mental health implications of some of EA’s TS3 traits no longer has to be one of those things! Note that this is the catalog only version of the trait, and still requires @hexagonal-bipyramid‘s trait_MAIN from here.

If you appreciate this mod, you might also want to check out other trait name replacements: Unstable to Indecisive and Commitment Issues to Noncommittal by me, and the original Less Ableist Trait Names by @veronavillequiltingbee which inspired me to make my own trait replacements. Credit also goes to hexagonal-bipyramid for the original 3t2 trait mod, my sim Nita zan-Avira of Kulo Seeri for needing this trait replacing, and my own experiences as an autistic worrier who has lived with depression, for giving me the first-hand experience that taught me to be respectful and gentle with other people’s minds and feelings.
hello everybody, lately there’s been a huge wave of new content for the sims 2 traits project and i have been adoring it. now there’s content for every single trait! special thanks to modders like belladovah, lilbabydilljr, fwaysims, episims and deedee-sims for adding so much great content to this project
now i’m not a modder so i don’t know the technical ins and outs going on here, but i am observant and i’m an ideas person. so i have a few suggestions for anybody looking for ideas/inspiration for this project
workholic and/or ambitious: disabling the want to miss work
no sense of humour: disabling the want to tell jokes at all (wanting to tell a joke is a really common want to roll and it’s slightly annoying when no sense of humour sims roll it)
unflirty: disabling to want to flirt (genuinely surprised this hasn’t happened already considering it’s in the name)
brave: disabling fears of fire and abduction
slob: disabling the fear of peeing one’s self (in general and at a party)
see, i know disabling wants is a thing that can be done (deedee-sims has done it a few times) so i think of ideas in that vein. espech because i do wants-based gameplay and traits effecting such a thing really adds richness and complexity to the sims and how they behave. when it comes to sims 2 and this project, it’s the little things, ya know?
anyways, i’ll probs think of more of these in the future but this is what i had in mind at the moment
oh, side note: i have no interest in installing ACR and the features it includes so i’d really like it if somebody developed an asexual trait that disables the wants for woohoo (little stereotypical i know but sims aren’t such complicated beasts as we humans are). or if nobody wants to do that, maybe that could fall under the unflirty trait? it’s a thought, if anybody is interested in that sorta thing
I’ve been asked to share the modernized social class traits I showed in this post, which enable a live-in housekeeper scenario to be played out - basically, Sims with either the Noble or the Nouveau Riche traits can no longer cook or clean, depending on which associated mods you download, while Sims with the Housekeeper trait do so autonomously. It also works with NPC maids and butlers. Sadly, you can’t actually pay your playable housekeepers, but you could set aside a portion of the family funds for their use or use other mods such as Pescado’s Money Order to send them their wages once they stop working for you.
The traits were originally by CedanyBlee (Noble and Gentry) and Mortia (Servant); I just changed the names and descriptions/pictures to fit a more modern setting, so Gentry became Nouveau Riche and Servant became Housekeeper. I kept Noble, because I wanted to differentiate between a family like the Capps and Olive Specter, for example. They function pretty much in the same way though.
IMPORTANT! These traits won’t do anything on their own! You must ALSO download the Nobles Don’t Cook/Clean mod by Laura if you want them to work!

Personally I just got the Cleaning restriction mod only, but YMMV.
Experimenting with traits for the first time, in @dreadpirates alt Pleasantview, and I feel like the first two randomly generated traits for Daniel and Mary-Sue just define their entire relationship
