This is probably a blast from the past but I happened across your piece on Mara Dyer and what authors owe us and I agree with everything you said. A sign of life from the author would be nice but honestly, personally, I'm glad with not getting anymore Mara Dyer things because the Indian rep was not good at all; I'd rather have actual Indian writers write Indian characters.
I just wish we'd at least get some closure. Mara/Stella being the villains in the last book was a great plot twist, especially Stella, (I think that's her name, it's been awhile since I read the last one and I don't have the physical copies with me at the moment for reference), and I just want to find out why! Just like how she tried justifying Noah's fathers motive off of Our!Mara's nonchalance of "I don't care about his motive. I just want to kill him." Like, okay but the reader does?? That's just one of my complaints with Michelle Hodkin, not wanting to flesh out her character's motives other than a simple "Because I can." And then not following through with any type of explanation regarding her absence - a simple "Hey, I'm taking some time off. I know the release date has been pushed back again. Here's why: I know you guys are waiting and thank you for your patience. I will update you all when more information becomes available" would suffice.
I mean, it's just common courtesy, you know?
