As they new caretaker of a 16 year old, Nayeon had are it her duty to make sure Sana enjoyed the full scope of being a kid. And that included it being Christmas as well.
She had asked for a list of things she wanted weeks earlier, and Sana hadn’t given her one despite all of the officer’s whining. That meant Nayeon was completely on her own about everything she had picked out, sure she had Jeongyeon help her but they had no idea what Sana liked.
It had all led up to this moment on Christmas morning, with an overly excited Nayeon practically jumping on the younger. “Wake up!”
“Mm?”
“The kitchen is on fire!”
“The what!?”
With a speed Nayeon never knew Sana possessed, she was up and out of her room, ran right past the livingroom, and into the kitchen. “Nayeon? There’s nothing in here.”
“Surprise!” Nayeon’ called from the livingroom, watching as Sana walked in and her face lit up.
“What’s all of this?”
“Santa came.”
“Santa is not real.”
“He definitely is, and he does not like your attitude about that.”
“…did you really write from Santa on all of this?”
“Santa did!”
“I didn’t know we were doing Christmas this year.”
“Why wouldn’t we?”
“I don’t know. I just didn’t think we would. I’m not a kid.”
“Shhh, sit down. We have to wait a few minutes though, Jeongyeon is coming over and she’s bringing pancakes!”
Sana cried from laughter about fifteen minutes when Jeongyeon showed up dressed in a Santa costume, holding a black trash bag with some presents in it. Nayeon knew then it was all worth it.
