Holiday Tips and Sips from Lindsay Emerson @housecallhydration
Who else best can give recommendations for Holiday Sips than our hydration expert, Lindsay Emerson of HouseCallHydration, a RN and BSN and Surgical Nurse who saw a huge need to introduce IV Therapy to our vacationers and locals. Lindsay, a local who was also a member of the US Snowboard Team, knows first hand about staying hydrating in altitude and dry climate.
Recently we popped into Teton Pines Country Club and they mixed up her favorite sips and she’s sharing her festive recipes with you.
HOLIDAY CHEERMEISTER COCKTAIL
Get into the spirit of the season with this Holiday Cheermeister Bourbon Punch from the Half Baked Harvest with warming bourbon, sweet pomegranate juice, zesty citrus, and bubbly Prosecco, all mixed together to create the perfect holiday punch that's both festive and delicious. Serve this poured over homemade festive "holiday" ice cubes for the prettiest seasonal cocktail.
4 ounces (1/2 cup) bourbon
1/2 cup freshly squeeze orange juice
1 (750 ml) bottle Prosecco chilled
1. In a large pitcher, combine the bourbon, pomegranate juice, orange zest and orange juice. Chill until ready to serve.
2. Just before serving, add ice to the punch bowl and pour over the Prosecco and top with pomegranates.
To really make it festive ice cubes, place fresh cranberries, blood orange slices, and rosemary sprigs in an ice cube tray. Fill with water and freeze until solid.
Spicy Pomegranate Moscow Mule
Try this twist on the classic Mule from The Half Baked Harvest with vodka mixed with fresh lime juice, a squeeze of grapefruit juice, pomegranate juice, spicy jalapeños, and topped off with ginger beer for a touch of sweetness and a little bit of bubbly! It’s both festive and warming, perfect for holiday parties and cold Jackson Hole winter nights.
Juice from 1/2 lime juice
Juice from 1/4 of a small grapefruit, plus grapefruit slices for serving
1/3 cup pomegranate juice
Pomegranate arils, and fresh mint, for serving
1. Fill a cocktail glass with ice.
2. Combine the vodka, lime juice, grapefruit juice, pomegranate juice, and jalapeños in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake until combined, about 1 minute. Strain into your prepared glass. Top with ginger beer and garnish as desired.
Prosseco with Pomegrante Arils
