I just saw a post in the big ole year of 2025 accusing people who didn’t love TSOA’s portrayal of Patroclus of homophobia and just plain old being bad people. Are we still doing this? Really? Because I just don’t think the media you do and don’t enjoy says too much about you as a person.

Why don't you like the song of Achilles?

oh boy ok well let me give you the condensed version: 

the writing is mediocre 

like it’s so aggressively flowery and there are so many metaphors and similes that you hardly know what’s actually happening

it reads as hyper intellectual but it’s just

smutty Illiad fanfiction

But no one acknowledges that that I have seen 

And I read the whole book before you ask and I still think it’s mediocre and hardly worth all the praise it gets

for being shitty purple smut fic but whatever

I used to just casually dislike but so many people kept getting in my face about it that I’ve went from like  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ to loud angry yelling and I keep coming up with more reasons why I hate it every time someone asks me why I hate it lmao 

stop fucking tagging posts as tsoa when they are literally about the Illiad like at least tag both gdi
