It is, Wang Zhi thinks, entirely too early for him to begin hallucinating. Sure, he already spent more than three days in this miserable cell, and the bruises and welts left by his captors ache; the food has been scarce and the water even scarcer. But all of it combined should not result in him being so far gone he would hear Tang Fan's voice. Tang Fan is in the capital, safe, solving cases and striking confused horror in the hearts of any wrongdoers, cherished and protected by his family. Tang Fan is -

- dragged into the stinking, narrow space of Wang Zhi's prison, arguing with the guards on the way. Something about the proper treatment of His Majesty's subjects.

October 20th Drabble

20. Suitang -  trick | smirk

Tang Fan thinks he’s being clever, making up ruses to get Sui Zhou to do things for him. Testing poisons with Pei Huai and the only cure is noodles! Arms so sore from lifting books that Sui Zhou must wash his back. They’re always delivered with a bright, whining, “Guangchuan!” and followed by the tiniest, self-satisfied smirk. Sui Zhou has never known someone so smart and yet so ridiculous. 

Still, he feeds him, washes his back, combs his hair, gives Tang Fan his heart in the only ways he knows how. Anything, everything, just to make him stay and smile.

People don't seem to pay attention to everything and everyone around them. Wang Zhi pays attention. He is cautious and dangerous, but to everyone he seems youthful, playful, well-mannered, and polite. She sees the dichotomy of Wang Zhi from their very first meeting.

October 24th Drabble

24.Suitang - shadows | gasp

Sometimes, Sui Zhou can’t help but touch Tang Fan. It’s an itch under his skin, a restlessness he cannot settle until his fingers reacquaint themselves with Tang Fan’s shoulder, hand, cheek, whatever he can reach. 

Now, as they lie together in Sui Zhou’s bed, he traces the shadows of flickering candlelight playing over Tang Fan’s chest. He has always had a heavy hand, rough with a soldier’s callouses, but his fingers stroke lightly, swirling and caressing until Tang Fan makes small gasping whines and traps Sui Zhou’s hand more firmly against his stomach. 

“Harder,” Tang Fan says. Sui Zhou obeys.
