Daily portraits, Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty edition! I'm only about 15 episodes in, but I'm loving it so far, and these guys are so drawable.
I'm getting the hang of these acrylic markers.

Where Are They Now: Post-God Valley
Nice recap especially the emphasis on Gold Roger's influence.
Tang Fan: How you can sit there calmly eating noodles when we are in this horrible trouble, I can’t make out! You seem to me to be perfectly heartless.
Wang Zhi: Well, I can’t eat noodles in an agitated manner. The broth would probably get on my cuffs. One should always eat noodles quite calmly. It is the only way to eat them.
Tang Fan: I say it’s perfectly heartless your eating noodles at all, under the circumstances!
i was not expecting to care so much about wang zhi's relationship to the emperor and concubine wan but i am just AH like this boy is seventeen and he has the weight of the country on his shoulders but, more than that, he has the responsibility to keep the people who raised him alive, and he cares more about that than anything else. it's the most fucked up relationship but it's also like. so fucking sweet and heartwarming like?? everything with the chicken cup where he wasn't worried about being accused of treason but that he broke concubine wan's trust??? and the emperor being like He Is Not Our Son but also admitting he feels safe with wang zhi around even though it was trusting a eunuch too much that killed his father?? and Ordering wang zhi not to die?????? i'm OBSESSED
those are his parents!! no one in this situation really wants it to be like that and yet it still is!! wang zhi cares more about them than his own life or safety and he's willing to commit treason to keep them safe!!! making him like one of the few people they can genuinely trust and yet! he will break that trust to save them! "i'd rather you live to hate me than die trusting me" is already so fucked up but when betraying their trust is LITERALLY treason it's just AH
This fucking cover man….
I did NOT expect to love this crew as much as I did….
Oh and we have Rocks’ dub voice for a fun fact!
