I’m definitely of the opinion that the final season of The Walking Dead shouldn’t be finished if that’s all the remnants of Telltale are focused on (the laid off workers come first and I hope they get their severance)

That being said, since it was meant to be the final season and there’s the call back with Lilly being involved and everything, I can’t help but wonder if the other community that’s fighting Lilly’s is the one Javi is a part of now and that if the series had finished Clem would have gotten reunited with them for a bit or even ended with them.

One of the reasons I’ve become so ambivalent about Telltale’s TWD, when S1 is probably one of my favourite games ever on its own, is I feel like they never understood what was so special about the first series and never tried to replicate it again; that being the relationship between Lee and Clementine. Or, to put it another way, giving the player someone to really care about!

There really hasn’t been any character I’ve cared about since Lee died other than Clem. Everyone is either a doe-eyed optimistic who doesn’t get the gravity of the situation, or they’re an asshole. Or just a burden. Clem was a cute little girl but NEVER a burden and always willing to help out when needed but also not escalate bad situations. 

Occasionally we will get an endearing character or potential ‘companion’ but now there seems to be a theme of teasing this and then cruelly taking it away, leaving you with the annoying ones you just wanna feed to the walkers. How much cooler would S2 have been if the dog had stayed with Clem throughout instead of trying to manipulate the player to care about the obvious liability, Sarah? Why does sweet, helpful Mari get to die and leave us with her tantruming brat of a brother? Why does cool Jesus Garrus get so little screen time compared to Friendzoned Kenny 2? 

I kinda want Clem to find AJ again but I have an awful feeling that the reunion will be short-lived and one of them will die. I honestly have no attachment to Javi’s family at all except maybe Kate.
