Everyone tells me that it takes a village to raise a family. I FIRMLY believe in this. In our case it’s taken a village just to start a family. There’s been the hard times of telling people we were unable to have our own children, learning about adoption, the paperwork, home studies, the cost and the list goes on.
During each step we have had to ask for help. I’ve gotten really good at it. I have found a village during each piece of the process wether it was a therapist, my amazing friends, our family, the adoption agency and I could list so many more.
My point is that it’s not just raising a family that takes a village, LIFE takes a village. Careers, relationships, family, education, social situations, all of it takes support. My question is why do we think we have to do it alone?
