Hatari - The Dome, Tufnell Park, London (30th August 2019)

On 27th of August the award-winning anti-capitalist performance art group from Iceland named Hatari performed in London for the first time bringing BDSM visuals, industrial techno sound and a powerful message of who they are and what they stand for. Ever since their loud and bold performance on 2019's Eurovision song contest, Klemens Hanningan, Matthías Haraldsson and Einar Stefánsson have gained a strong, dedicated fan-base proven by the fact that the gig was sold-out within first minutes of its announcement. The performance began with an audio statement of who and what is Hatari as to insist that what will happen on stage is a performance first and a concert second. The setlist consisted of all key songs from  their discography to this day, including "Hatrið mun sigra", thanks to which most of new fans discovered the band thanks to this year's Eurovision, and "KLEFI / SAMED (صامد)" - their collaboration with Palestinian performer Bashar Murad. Fans joyfully danced and sang along to the songs that Hatari are singing exclusively in Icelandic. The atmosphere of the evening was hot, passionate and loving. Hatari are inspiring their fans to look at our worlds' flaws, face the truth, and to be free and honest with themselves and who they are. Next year the trio are coming back to the UK with even more dates announced and we cannot wait to see the development of the art of Hatari.
