has anyone thought about how tulipduo is like 5 dynamics packed into one Wait actually im gonna yap about this under cut LOL. it goes way deeper than what their existing 3 videos have that’s for certain
ok so generally i see tulipduo in 4 different phases: when they were actually teamed (first week of lss6), post-wemmbu locking himself in a cave (july-nov), post-wemmbu ban during mane war, and post-Wemmbu Banning Himself Again in may. as a whole i think derap is the more important of the two’s characters when it comes down to their dynamic so i section s6 in my head according to his character
at first, at their initial teamup, tulipduo is basically Extremely dangerous unpredictable guy teaming with d1 quickdrop (think prideduo LOL) and it’s really funny at this point because derap genuinely goes down to 2 hearts at this time naturally while wemmbu gets like. 15? around? and then wemmbu gives basically all his hearts to his chungy teammate and it’s kinda like awwww this wildcard guy has a soft spot for him despite derap by all means being a liability
and then we get to the next part where derap is left totally alone while wemmbu goes off to frolic with the blindfold bandits. and then it starts getting Unhealthy. in my personal view of things i believe that ls derap’s greatest fear is loneliness; and so during a time where he’s incredibly lonely, he Tries to reach out to the sticklers but it lowkey doesn’t work. and so he latches onto the only thing he knows. WHICH IS WEMMBU.
then we move into the really crazy part where wemmbu bans himself in nov 2024 and derap in all his selfishness basically says Not on my watch. my FAVORITE ever lifesteal line is “i’ll revive him four times if i have to.” at the time revival beacons were basically going extinct because the border was so small and there weren’t enough echo shards to go around, but derap had been hoarding mats for ages. despite their rarity derap is willing to drop EVERY resource he has to make sure that wemmbu lives. even if he bans himself again immediately! that’s what the “four times” is referring to. so not only is derap genuinely obsessed with this dude but he’s willing to completely brush aside wemmbu’s own wants in order to pursue his own. WILD. Tulipduo is genuinely the most parasocial dynamic ever I LOVE THEMMM
generally things do die down a little later after derap does revive wemmbu (but he doesn’t log on regularly after FML) and teams up with zam. but the next thing i wanna talk about is after wemmbu bans himself AGAIN in may and this part is important bc wemmbu drops in zam’s chat that he actually was leaking derap and zam’s coords to flame during the entire revival for him to kill them.
THIS IS THE PART NOBODY TALKS ABOUT. This genuinely makes derap really upset with wemmbu. after all that effort and devotion and time derap dedicated to him a wildcard is still a wildcard after all. in derap’s eyes this is a betrayal. nobody ever talks about his resentment from here to the finale it’s like Hidden Secret Lore
but in the end derap kinda makes peace with it all after the season ends peacefully. he accepts his lonely ending (he ends the season alone at zaun), revives everyone to keep everyone unbanned including wemmbu again (just as the last one AHAHAHAHAH). i kinda drifted off track here But you see it right the shifting and changing. MY CHUDS BROOOO even if uu tulipduo is real i don’t think they can replicate the insane one sided parasocialness of s6
i can go 10x deeper with ls!derap’s character but that’s for another day 🤖
