minecraft update
or: i wanna talk abt my minecafts
reworked the windmill tower, so that it and the elevator machinery are accessible by elevator. added a greebling band, both to add texture and to cover up the gears sticking through the walls in one place.
unfucked most of the factory machinery. linking it all up with the new power source (massive wind turbine sticking out the top of the factory) fucked w the operating speeds. Had to tear out a lot of the shit id accreted around the iron machine to get at its actual workings (i kinda built onto it a lot: it was the first powered machine i made so i stuck a lot of other parts on there. autocrafter, a press, my millstone, etc), but honestly it looks better without the autocrafter sitting in front so whatever. anyway, everythings working as expected now, and both machines use the central powerline for the first floor, so hopefully we wont have this experience again in the future.
built a small appartment building in the neighboring village. Beds five (two of the units have two beds. im not sure if that aactually works but whatever). ill need to make sure the villagers actually get people in there. next up is to build a library, for librarians (books, yay) and also because. welll, if youre repaying a village for its hospitality by enriching it with your industrial wealth, a library is kind of classic isnt it?
pursuant to the above, gathered some cows in a pasture by the village. going to need to slaughter a *lot* of them for the books. This despite saying preciously i was going to avoid setting up any kind of industrial slaughterhouse because it felt icky. in my defense, its not my fault minecraft doesnt know you can bind books with things that arent leather
spawned myself one (1) rice. this because.... well, honestly i didnt feel like journeying to find Rice. im sorry women.
started setting aside a plot for rice farming. theres a bend in the river that leaves a nice underwater space that i can use without blocking the river proper, so i made a nice big area of flat dirt there. growing rice by hand for now, but later on ill set up some machinery for it.
speaking of, considering making a second cropfarming machine. my current one gives me a decent supply of wheat, potatoes, onions, and tomatoes, but i might want to increase production of those. maybe also add a few plots of demons dream for funsies.
finally lit up the village and the area around my workspace. hopefully thatll make me need to fill less creeperholes.
