AU idea based on @stardust948 ‘s Emperor’s New Groove idea - In a modern AU, Azula and Zuko are spoiled rich kids. They’re not actively bullies, they just love to flaunt money and ignore people. One day, after they disrespect some local old woman, they wake up as turtleducks(entire Fire Family?). A very weird creature in a modern AU. Through the magic of fanfic logic, the two end up in the Water Sibling’s backpacks.

Ozai compels the spirits to turn Zuko into a turtleduck, thinking his angsty son would just run away leave him alone to mope. Instead, Zuko says *quack* you and flops around the palace.

Example of schenenigans:

General: where’s your son?

Ozai: *not about to reveal he turned his son into a turtleduck because that’s crazy* He’s no longer with us.

Zuko: *Rage quacking in the vents breathing fire*

Other scenarios include:

Zuko to starts scream quacking at every meeting, and no one can find where he's hiding

Zuko creates an army of turtleducks and terrorizes the kitchen staff.

Zuko uses his beak to dismantle the fire lords crown

Zuko still has his firebending, so he sneaks into Azula’s room and sets her closet on fire.

The only way to break the spell is a kiss from a princess Katara

Snippet from: Fire Family Week Day 2 - Turtleducks

“Katara.” Hakoda snapped, “Don’t disturb them.”

“But they’re so cute! You didn’t tell me they had two babies. Sokka, come look at them.” Even when one of the babies came running out and began quacking at Katara, she could only scoop them up and kiss their head, “They’re so cute!”

“And with that kiss you just gave yourself 20 new diseases.” Sokka said, “But they are adorable.” The baby tried to nad at Sokka’s finger when he came over but missed, allowing Sokka to scratch under his chin. The baby practically melted into Sokka’s touch.

“Can we keep them?” Katara asked.

“No.” Hakoda quickly snapped, “We’re not keeping a bunch of wild animals that we don’t even know the species of.”

“But they’re adorable!” Katara begged, “Please, daddy!”

“That’s not going to work. Put the baby down and let’s go.” Hakoda ordered.

“Fine.” 

As they closed the door, Hakoda, making sure that none of them would run out, gave Kya a look while she continued to stare and him and the room.

“What? We can’t keep them.”

“I know. I know.” Kya quickly said, “I’m not saying we should but maybe….just maybe…animal control doesn’t have to be called tonight?” She suggested.

Hakoda sighed. Those duck-turtle creatures were going to destroy the guest room by morning. He was sure of it. Still, he knew that look in Kya’s eyes. She wasn’t asking him, she was telling him that they were staying for the night. Hakoda let out a sigh and nodded.

“Yes!” Kya was smiling and jumping for joy.

“But they really have to leave tomorrow.”

“I know. I know.” She happily said, kissing Hakoda, “They’re gone tomorrow!”
